I was wondering if they pay percentage or miles on flatbed? I took a look at their website and they seem to be a good outfit. Also, are the trucks condos or extended roofs? I hope they're not anything like the black Peterbilts.
-
They pay on practical miles on 2 different pay plans, and they offer per-diem pay as well.
The trucks running flats are Freightliner Columbias, (but there are a few older Centurys running around) and Internationals....I think they are 9400i. They do have condos, but they are trainer trucks....The rest are mid-roofs. -
I was doing some research on roehl and came across their honor program and was wondering about it.
Does the pay that offer during seem fair for newbie (ex-mil)? It seems kinda low to me.
Is the apptenticeship really worth while or would it be better going straight into driving for the mileage verses the appt.
Any responses would help thanks
you can find the info @ roehl honor program .com
Sorry I dont have enough posts to put the link up yet.
CROSS INTO THE BLUE

I have looked at their program and although it definitely seems better than what others are offering, I too have wondered if it was really worth it.

These Veterans apprenticeship programs are actually beneficial to the EMPLOYERS. During the employment period, wages paid are subsidized by the V.A. This is little more than corporate welfare disguised as patriotism.
It does little if anything for the "Vet", but provides labor to the company at minimal cost, courtesy of the US taxpayer.
I don't wish to sound unpatriotic or cynical. It is what it is, and if I were back in business, I too would look for ways to improve my bottom line..
Thanks for serving our country.

Hello fellow Roehl Drivers. First time posting here and wanted to say Hi.
Been with Roehl for 2 years after some dissapointing time with other companies and am happy about it. Recently became a trainer, quite an experience. Cant say i didnt have any problems but they were resolved quickly. They seem to take into account that every driver has different needs. I work regional Georgia Pacific and my trips are well planned. Been Running 2400 to 2800 consistantly and home most of the weekend. I think the best thing about Roehl is how well your treated, respect wise. For the new guys and gals I feel its about the best company to start with, and stay with if the job fits you. Just one last word. Trucking has some inherent problems you cant blame on your company, only how that company deals with those problems. Good luck to you all.

Welcome, Dave! Can you or any other Roehl drivers clarify their idling policy? If you can't hit their percentages, does that just mean you don't get the fuel bonus? Any suggestions on idling? Thanks!
-
I would have to look it up but the idle policy is fairly easy to meet, it varies, but most trucks have a bunk heater or icon. I think u loose the fuel part of the bonus for the quarter but not the whole bonus.

My husband is with Roehl. It's been a year and he too is happy with them. He has also just became a trainer and is going to orientation on April 9th. I don't know the specifics the idle time but I do know it doesn't blow the whole bonus you just don't get as much if you had met the goal. Also don't forget the annual bonus given out at Christmas. It is a nice one. Nice to meet you Dave, my husbands name is John. Right now he is in truck 5711 but will probably be getting a new one after he leaves Marshfield in April.
