I do remember a TMC driver telling me that if he idled his truck too much, they took money out of his paycheck. Not sure if that is true or not.

Now, when you say weekend home, how many hours is that? For example, my father in law gets home friday night and heads back out monday mornin (generally). I have heard that Maverick weekends are more like a 24-36 hour home time....?
-
For that reason alone, I am almost completely sold on Maverick!

TMC is allowing inverters currently, it's a 1500w cobra, must be purchased and installed through them, or if you have the specific model they will install.
Nice to see a good change for them benefiting the driver, small, but good. -
I think some companies expect the driver to give up too much. I mean no APU or inverters or EZ Pass (if they don't use it). How is the driver supposed to feel at home while on the road if we can't have a microwave (or whatever makes the truck feel like home) or be warm or cool? The companies that I look at must have EZ Pass for me to be interested. If they run the northeast there is no excuse not to use it!

Does anyone know if they hire from the west coast? I'd love to work for a company like Maverick.
-
No; not their neck of the woods. They run out there some, but not often. They like to hire where they can get drivers home on the weekend. Long haul stays out 2 weeks.
-
36 to 50 hours -
The way they told us is Home or through the house every weekend. That is the goal.
In almost 7 months, I have only missed two weekends. The past two weeks I have spent Fri, Sat, and Sunday night at home. Other times if I get home on Friday, I leave on Sunday, or if I get home on Saturday, I leave on Monday.
It is all driven by freight, but they try very hard to get you Home, Or Through The House Every Weekend. -
Been at both. Maverick all the way! They treat you like a human, appreciate your efforts, and respect the life you have chosen to live to earn a living. I only missed 2 weekends in two years at Maverick. If you don't mind being belittled, made to feel lesser than thou, and want a shiny black and chrome truck, go TMC.
sewerman and notarps4me Thank this.
