Yeah they're gutless, no power on hills, and it says volvo on the side of it.

I love the interior, room for all of our stuff. No, the split seat does not bother us when sleeping, although I wish that they didn't move so much when the table is out. As for the power I think they are great! I love the Volvo engine. It is a D13 and has plenty of power. It is a 9 speed and I hardly have to downshift out of 9th going uphill. It has an auto feature for the break. All you do is set the cruise, and then you can set the jake to whatever speed you want it to slow down to going downhill and it does it automatically. It seems to have more power than both Columbia's we just got rid of. One was a 60 series, and the other a DD15. Very smooth acceleration, Excellent handling. SO I really have no complaints, even out of the Volvo engine.

Did you say it is an auto transmission? If so, how do you like it?

I'm happy that you two are satisfied, and I hope it works out for you! I also hope that CRST gives you the miles to wear off that "polished" look on your new Drives!

I've had a 2009 w/ Cummins and now am in a 2007 with a Volvo D12. I've driven Cat & Detroit and only heard bad things about the Volvo Engines! Other than I think the past Cummins did better with MPG - not by much BTW - the Volvo engine has been the best that I've driven. My 2007 has a 13 speed and I can run 70. Never really had problems with power on hills, nor mountains compared to the others.

A note for you: Carry Xtra coolant! You don't need much, but the "Full" level is real touchy. Once you loose a little, a sensor goes off on your dash, and once you slow down, you'll "shut down"! Kid you not! Other than leaks, this usually happens to me after a PM, simply because most Shops don't wait long enough for the Coolant level to stabilize before cutting you loose.

I'm looking to get into a 2011 with a 500 HP Volvo D13 and Auto Shift. I really like my 13 speed, but have actually heard good things about the Auto Shift - especially its Fuel Mileage.

Question - you mentioned other Engines, but have you driven other 780 years? I'm just interested in some kind of feedback on what I might expect different with the 2011. Again, I wish you two well, and may the Wind Stay at your back!

It is not the Autoshift, it is a 9 speed. Although I did get to test drive one with a D12 (385hp?), Autoshift, and front air ride suspension. It drove really nice, but didn't pull as hard in my opinion as my D13. But the front air ride suspension is awesome. I am in the process of trying to purchase one. I am working on the VA for a small business loan.

I personally would not own a Volvo but nothing against the truck but the volvo engine messed it all up. You would of been better off with at least a 500hp Cummins The Volvo engine is not worth all the trouble you have to go to only Volvo can work on them if you need a repairs and its always got to be something "EXTRA" with them.

Nice truck! Minus not having a air slide fifth wheel and the Volvo Engine. I agree with ''RAMPAGE'', It would be sooo much better with the 500 Cummins. Nice truck though lol.

Hey J A I was wondering how your linking this truck so far? Question is the bottom bunk comfortobale to sleep on or it best to just keep it as a table and use the top bunk also what do you think of the room and weight? I am asking because I am considering picking one up in the near future.
