Just to add fuel to the fire.... The California Port Restrictions are begining to move to the East Coast. Below is an email that was sent to Mercer Transportation & then posted to the Mercer Blog pertaining to the Port of Ny/NJ.

I really dont see that happening, the green movement is running out of steam.

Well actually they have been out of steam for quite a while. States are learning that enforcing such things are expensive, time consuming and tie up one heck of a lot of resources, and they decrease productivity and increase costs to thier residents.

There are still many states with no state emissions laws, IE Texas, Montana, Wyoming.

lmao this is what the gov is known for, they love tying up resources.i don't know about the every 2 years on a truck issue but i do know they are far from over.they will go on and on until america either gives in/up or fights back.they want total control over everything and they will make up anything they have to,to do it.

Hi; didn't know hot to reply to your message since I don't have several posts yet. So here goes. If your interested, http://www.socalteammatch.com/ helps you find team drivers, it is free. Also my sister and brother inlaw retired last year from Southern Cal, spent several years with them, and they did them right. Their a solid company, have to have 6 months experience to get on with them. So you might do your research and see if this is for you. Personally my sister and her hubby told me trucking is not what it used to be since I left and to stay with my health care job, I make more than a "newbie" and I would probably get behind in my bills, just waiting for the first "newbie" pay to kick in. I really love truckin, but I am seeing the light of day in paying off some of my "credit cards" so I am doing the research a little more about jumping careers. Thanks for the reply, have a good search for your career. LydiaT
