    You're right.....Hell will break loose....

There is a shipper in Ontario, Cali.....

They drag their azzhats when it comes to loading....
I have had three loads from them....2 pm appointment?....No problem...You'll get loaded at 5:30 (Somehow they manage to move fast a half hour before closing time...) pm...

At 6, they tell you to stop tarping and move out into the street....OPD waits and then cites all the drivers...The whole block is posted "No Parking"...

I'd love for the clock to stop there one day at 5:59:59....And tell them oh well...I can't move.....You should have loaded me at 2 when I got here.....

not bitter. just sitting here in a hotel killing time. someone with no experience driving thinks they know everything. might as well argue back to them.
im not dumb. i know you aren't hearing a thing i say. your mind is made up. good for you. run legal. enjoy trucking. it's not a bad job. in your case, it'll be the hardest $35,000 or $40,000 a yr. you'll ever make. but you'll be 100% compliant at all times. i'm sure of it!

What would make things safer is:

    No NAFTA trucks.....

No "Steering Wheel Holders" (50% of the reason why there's $1/m tarped lumber loads...)....Professional drivers only...

No "Briefcase Brokers"..... The other 50% of the reason why there's $1/m tarped lumber loads......

Go back to the old HOS rules and let the driver stop when he is tired.....not when the clock says so......

There are some days I can run 700 miles...and some days 300 kicks my azzhat.....

I'm an adult....I know if I'm tired...I park for an hour or two and take a nap....

That's all im trying to say. I honestly feel for the guy that lost his friends in a few crashes. I would hate for that to happen. But to say that it's because they violated their hos is retarded. I'm sure they may have been tired and fell asleep. Goofy shipping hours, swingshift-on-a-daily-basis schedules, shippers/receivers all play way more of a part in driver fatigue then a guy violating his hos. Use common sense. Who sleeps 10 hours a day? No one I know that has a job. So then what? Hang out a couple hours doing nothing, waiting for the clock to tell you to leave? Now you're a couple hours into your day. It dont mater whether im working or sitting, im gonna be tired same time the next night.
