I am in the same boat. I just spent a week at a Swift orientation only to find out after being sent home I tested possitive for THC. Now I cant get through to anyone in Pheonix about having the 2nd sample tested. Nor do I have the cash to pay for it myself. I have taken Alieve many times in the past, but not recently, I do however take tons of herbal suplements. Who knows if any of them had anything to do with this...

Did any of the people who had positive results in this thread speak to an MRO?? I saw no mention of it anywhere..

All these "what if" questions are ultimately left to the MRO to decide, noone else can downgrade a positive result, and you only have a limited amount of time to request the split sample be tested..

Getting a false positive downgrade is highly unlikely on a 5 panel screen.. False won't fly with most MRO's as they probably hear that from everybody that fails.. If your results are not clear cut so that they know exactly what substance you're taking, they're gonna be suspicious.. They're trained to interrogate you to see if your full of shhitt..

And as for the dot and drug testing all they do is make the rules.. They don't keep records on drivers.. Only records will be with the company you test for, the lab and the MRO..

So what are a persons options in this situation? How do you go about getting this SAP thing set up? And is there any hope for someone straight out of trucking school to find a company willing to take a chance on them?

I am loosing alot of sleep over this, I have been chronicly unemployed for years now this was supposed to be my big break. Not expecting sympathy just some advice on how to fix it.

The SAP thing will just get you blacklisted forever, your just wasting your money. A Lawyer may be able to get it expunged. Lawyers aren't cheap. Wait 36 months start all over.

According to what I've been told, just getting a contact high will not result in a positive test. Supposedly everyone has a small amount of THC in their systems. The testing takes that in consideration. You would have to be in an environment like Cheech and Chong's van to register a positive test without actually smoking pot. And if that's the case, why are you even in that situation???

This is what I was told when I talk to the collectors/testers at Pipeline Consortium here in town. This was probably five years ago when I talked to them about it. The reason being is I was at a Def Leppard concert and people were passing around joints. Right after I got my class A and then shortly after I had a DOT random where I worked. They told me if I wasn't actually smoking it and it wasn't concentrated, even if I had gotten a contact high, I had nothing to worry about.

Of course, my UA came back negative.
