That's awesome Jim! You've probably experienced a lot of cool things in your first 6 months and I'm sure that had to be right at the top.

I posted to you on another Maverick thread about Maverick orientation. If you could PM me that would be great. I would love to get on with Maverick. I have another 2 weeks left of school. I just turned 50, have a spotless driving record and no criminal record. Any info would be greatly appreciated, and I would gladly use you as a reference if you wouldn't mind referring me. It's totally up to you. I look forward to hearing from you.

    God bless,
    Frank

Experience is still good with them! Been with them 6 months.
Got a nice surprise call last night on the way from ohio. I was going to have a hard time making the 2 o clock appointment.
They said just go home and deliver on Monday. Three nights at home this weekend....nice...very nice.
I would recommend Maverick to anyone!:biggrin_255:

After 6 months of driving on my own, I thought I would share some of the things that I have learned.
    1. Don't Rush Ever! Bad things will happen. Speed comes with Repetition. Take your time and do it correctly and eventually you will get faster at it

    2. Don't worry about what others are thinking! Do it the way you were taught and do not think about what anyone else is thinking. Focus on the task at hand.

    3. When backing, do as many pull ups as you need to. Follow one and two.
    Make small adjustments.

    4. Always be willing to lend a helping hand. What goes around will come around.

    5. Do not be afraid to respectfully question things that you are told my your fleet manager. They do not always think of everything....they are human and have others to be concerned with as well.

    6. Take the time to do a good pre-trip and a good post trip inspection.

    7. Stop and do your load checks as close to when they are do as possible.

    8. Watch, look, and listen to what the others drivers are doing...backing, loading, securing, and driving...you will learn alot.

    9. If you do not know, do not be afraid to ask.

    10. Be respectful to everyone!

    11. Enjoy yourself!
