We get that...And WA4GCH You personally are not one of "those guys"...You are generally well mannered and easy to chat with and you seem to be a gentleman.

But honestly for some of these Ham Clowns to come here and talk down to us the way they do is the primary reason that most of us just laugh at them and couldn't care less what they think!

I mean...Old Housefly comes here and disrespects every man that drives a truck with his particular brand of bullshi+ and then can't seem to understand why we all think him to be kind of a jerk. (to put it mildly)

Then there this Delta whatever guy who is as condescending to anyone that's not a Ham as anyone could be and he attempts to make his point by slamming everyone that doesn't do things the way HE thinks it ought to be done.

    NEWS FLASH BOYS!!!

We don't care, We're not impressed and mostly...We're just not interested in your opinions here.
You guys are Ham operators and you are on a TRUCKER FORUM trying to intimidate guys that generally don't give a #### what you think!

A little smoother approach might get you a little better results....But the fact of the matter still remains and that is that we are not too concerned with what YOU or the FCC think!

Well you know what chief, I have been a semi driver for over 16 years myself. I really dont care what you think either. There is a red button at the top right-hand corner of your screen with a white X in it. If you dont like our opinions, you are more than welcome to click that button... I come here to help guys understand what the rules actually say, and to help them become ham radio operators and to help them figure out problems with their radios. Nothing irritates me more than when some ill-informed driver comes in here spouting some crap they heard on the road or at some hickabilly cb hack chop.

In 1999 the FCC tried to shut down Texas Star because they were being accused of selling CB Radio Amplifiers.

So what Texas Star did was re-do the circuitry in the Amp's and added a plug on the back similar to a external speaker/PA Jack plug so you could plug in a Morse Code Key.

They also made the Amp's so they would NOT work on the 11 Meter Band from the Factory. So now the Texas Star Amps (also called CW Transmitter's) were FCC Approved to be used on 10 and 12 Meter.

Later, the CW jack on the back of the units was done away with and a sniffer installed for CW use.

ALL Texas Star Amp's from the factory will not work on 11 Meter...But are easily modified for 11 meter.

Depending on where you buy the Amp's, some will go ahead and do the 11 Meter Mod for free before shipping...Some will charge extra for the service, but put a instruction sheet in the box to show you what needs to be done, and you can do it yourself...(All that is required is to remove one jumper, and re-install it in a different hole on the board...A 1st grader can figure it out!)

There is nothing illegal about selling Texas Star Amp's in this Country...It's just illegal to modify on for CB Radio, and use one with a CB Radio...

Now I would think anyone that has been in the Ham Radio Hobby for any length of time should already know this...

So what I'm thinking here, is there is a couple of guys on this Forum who may or may-not actually be Ham Radio Operators and are just playing games on the Forum to see who all will bite, and argue... These people are referred to as "Troll's". And I believe that is what is going on here now...

You guys need to go back to CBASSHOLE site and play your games over there....

    geartow Thanks this.

Thats a very grey area. Thats why I posted that FCC ruling. Those radios listed have been declared ILLEGAL because the obvious intent is for them to be easily modified to work on CB (FCC opinion..). It just amazes me that the FCC doesnt order customs to seize the shipments of these radios. Personally, I could care less what happens on CB radio. Just keep it below 28.000 mhz and everyone will be happy...

    A semi driver?

No one that I have ever known thats driven a truck for more than 5 minutes refers to themselves as a "semi driver"...:biggrin_2559:
As far as not liking "our opinions" and clicking the red button with the X in it....Don't hold yer breath.
And besides...I have no problem with "our opinions" here...I'm just laughing at yours!
I'm not necessarily "ill informed" about the rules...I just scoff ot the FCC and their "so called" enforcement and at the people that take the sillyassed rules so seriously.

If you have a problem with that...So what?:biggrin_2559:

"What?" How is Customs going to "seize" something that is built here in this Country?

The Boards maybe built overseas, but they are put together here.....

Just google WackPack, Nacht. It's loved by some and hated by others. If you find their website, read the testimonials. There's one from a guy who was proud to be bleeding on ch. 19 from 30 miles away, when he was on ch. 17. In case you didn't know, that's bad. As far as the Hams go..... They do this all the time on here. Talk down to the truckers, bash the "crappy so-called 10 meter radios", warn you against the linears, etc. etc. Every time they bait someone bites, and it makes for an interesting couple of posts. All except WA, who constantly tells people to run amps if they want more power. Who cares, run what you want. There is ALWAYS the possibility you'll get caught, but thats just a chance you take. I do know a fellow here close to me, who recently got a warning from the FCC for bleeding over phone lines. His neighbors called him in because he was rude and made no attempt to correct the problems.
