It's 0200 and I just pulled into Wood River, NE. Only 400 more miles to go. So off I go after 1200 for my 0400 monday morning delivery at Target.
Fortunately I can stay on the property when I arrive, so I'll have my 10 in by the time they finally get me unloaded. Last time it took them 7 hours to unload the apples. Not sure, but I think they had to count each apple individually.
Which, if true, puts me in a real jam on this load...I'm carrying berries.

@Smokr
I got a pre-hire from Stevens and Im wondering how many miles are you getting? -
Just as I suspected...couldn't get repowered off this load with too much time on it so I have this evening as well as tomorrow off in Las Vegas. I sure wish I could find something fun to do here
-
earlier this year i ended up taking a day off in vegas. the strip has some good shows and lots of stuff to see. even won 500 bucks at a casino.

Alamorich,
You didn't start the rukus, that is my job. Besides just a different view point on the world, and a discussion between friends.
Glad your are enjoying your training, and keeping the world updated. -
Weekends running ahead on the load, repower requests fall on deaf ears. At least you are in a location with plenty of entertainment, not stuck in some pooh dunk town. Send in another request on monday morning, maybe a load coming out of Cally will need your Help!!!
love and Hate that target in Cedar Falls IA....shortest delay 4 hours, longest 12 hours, I had apples for the 12 hours, and mixed produce for the 4 hours. Get paid for sleeping though. They have never allowed me to park there before my appointment, or stay too long after I am finally unloaded.
Miles vary, from 2000 to 3500 per week...depends on the week, what mood dispatch is in, how many loads have been circled jerked that week, your location.....
Fall weather, 44 degrees tonight at 11pm, feels like home. -
Just remember, before you start a ruckus, put gas in it. It will last longer and get the job done. If it's a toro ruckus, you have to prime the carb first.
TLeaHeart Thanks this. -
I had a '54 Ruckus when I was in college. Good gas mileage, but the heater didn't work well.
Traded it in on a '65 Corvair. -
Well.... I just got off the phone from my recruiter. I decided to go via bus since I live in the middle of Iowa. The cost in gas for my trailblazer would have been $100.00 or better. Then I found out the trip by bus will be over 19hr. Oh man, that sounds fun. Oh well we do what we have to. I need the job and Stevens has it. I really am glad for the opportunity, but man 19hrs on the bus!!
