You will never regret getting the full 725hp, unless you plan to put a monkey, errr.... steering wheel holder, in the truck in the future. You/he can break the truck if it's not driven with respect. I let all those stock series 60 and ISX company trucks out run me through the gears because that's where the damage will happen 95% of the time. My stage 1 725 was an animal for the 1st 2 or 3 months, now it seems... normal. It's almost time to put a manifold on, that's another 25 - 35 hp. I guess I need to drive a stock truck again.... LOL

Yea, Im really looking forward to getting this PDI tune. So far I've been impressed with what I have read. Thanks you for all y'all's inputs.
Also thanks to Mr. Haney for all the tech info, I love reading about that stuff. Its good to know more about the "meat" of the engine. I look forward to meeting you in Charlotte.

Mmmmmm, 1150hp...... Hill?? What hill?
Is there a trans that can handle that?
So a C15 can become a C18 with crank/pistins/liners? Wow, that's cool.
Bill -
What I would worry about is how much power can the transmission handle?
-
why not, back when they were running the kta motor the heaviest trans was a 125 series some couldnt keep a trans in and some never had a problem. its how you drive it that matters. i ran a 16913 for 1354000 miles befor i went to a 18918. and it wasnt because the 13 broke it was still a good working trans.and grossing an average of 120000 to 135000 most of the time.

The internal parts of the C18 will fit in your block...............why would you want to change the block??????
-
I always enjoy talking motors..........see ya in Charlotte
-
superhauler said the correct answer.......the transmissions can handle a tremendous amount of torque above there rating. I myself build roughly 4000 Ft/Lbs of torque and haven't had a transmission failure of any type. I'm not saying that I won't either as the top gear does metal fatigue with this much torque over spec, but I've seen big motors go a million miles before this happens to the tranny. I've also seen them not last 100,000 with the right idiot behind the wheel.

learn something all the time i thought it was a different motor all together, my bad.
