Hi this what i seen , forgot were it was, but this crst truck with 53' van trl , put on his right blinker , turned right at the info road sign, went down a steep embankment right aft the sign , they didnt roll it , but it was straight down, the turn was anthor 500 feet,
, next i went too work here, i would not say it was the driver fault sorta, but it was during a blinding snowstorm we had a couple winter ago, he shoulda stayed at the flying j there, but being super trucker, he could see, well he did all right , found the exit outa the j got it straight went down too freeway exit ok, but instead of turning he went straight and went off the road , straight down hit the intersate embankment, when the snow cleared you could see the tire tracks straight down , if he coulda quik turn right , he woulda went up the exit and yes this was o/o too, not company driver , nice reffer trl , nice truck too pete 379 , nicly dressed up.just a bad day for him, Everett.

Confused. Who was the stupid one, the trucker, or the 4 wheeler that didn't have enough sense to move to the right lane?
-
The four wheeler shouldn't have had to. That car driver was doing exactly what he should have been, where he should have been. The trucker should have had the common sense to stay in the lane he was restricted to in the first place like everyone else was. Add to that a winding road, hauling fuel, and just plain ego and it all adds up to a moron.

about 2 miles from my house there is a low train bridge, posted 11'1". the road dips a little as it goes under the bridge, well a 53' trailor comes along and the tractor made it under but as it started the very short climb up hill the trailor clipped the bridge. and to top it all off he didnt stop, he kept going until he was about 15'-25' feet deep thinking he could pull the trailor out. ended up being this big huge thing in the paper and all.
also same bridge local lumber company, guy goes through with the flat bed straight truck. WITH A VERY LARGE BOOM. oh ya he nailed that thing very hard and tore it all to hell. talked to one of the other drivers about the repair bill and all he could say is it was very large and the owner was not happy -
Pilot in Phoenix. A Pride truck was pulled up just past the back of the building (exit the fuel island, hang a left, head toward the exit). Whatever, just getting a scale ticket or food or what-not. Didn't think much of it, went in to get a Frosty.
Came back out, and Pride had rolled about a hundred feet and jumped the curb (where you take that left down for the exit). That curb is about four or five inches high...with nothing on the other side of it. So the truck's steers had to drop maybe a foot or 18 inches to come to rest in the dirt. This made it so the tractor was hung up on the curb by its fuel tanks...which had punctured and were leaking.
So, not only had this guy not set his brakes when he left the truck, he'd busted both tanks and drenched the pavement and landscaping with fuel, AND totally blocked one of the two exits from the lot.
They had to get a wrecker to pull him off the curb, and had to do it suuuper slow so that a couple of guys with oil drain pans could catch the fuel that started pouring out even faster when the breached tanks cleared the concrete. -

But many years ago that would have been fine - get the kids out to push the bus out of the problem and get on down the road. I know - dangerous and all, but that was how it used to get done.
