My brother ran for them for over 10 years but when things got shaky, he left last year. It was a hard decision for him seeing how he was teamster for over 18 years but he's ok with his new job. He took a 10% pay cut but he's home more often and there is more job security with his new job.
My neighbor has been with YRC for 16 years and he can't afford to take a 10-20% percent cut in pay so he's sticking it out. I hope it works out for him and the other 20,000 plus drivers working for YRC.
My brother-n-law has been with UPS for over 24 years and even he is starting to feel the squeeze.
I've only been trucking class A for 13 years but have been around the trucking business off and on since 89 and I feel for the guys that have dedicated so many years with it. I remember the 94 teamster strike like it was yesterday.
