Have a look on youtube for smart car crash tests, they`re tougher than they look, not that I`d like to be in a crash in one anyway

i did that once down in galveston tx some yrs back used to be a ferry that took you across the bay ( no not a fairy) they parked you bumper to bumper on that thing i had a 4300 eagle then got to the other side waiting for my turn to go the hand that was working the deck motioned for me to go i hooked in gear let the clutch out and thought man this load is pulling hard about that time a vw shot out from in front of me. I was pushing it with my front bumper and didnt even know it the deck hand started laughing i started laughing that vw was out of sight in 3 seconds flat. here he was motioning to the vw not me. never did see that car again.

My personal most hated is the Prius. Everytime a car was in the blind spot, or cut me off and hit the brakes.... it was a Prius. I think they were trying to commit suicide.

I had to go to Matha's Vineyard a couple years ago with an oversize load. It actually went smoother then I thougt but it was still a pain in the ###. When I fist got there, there was some big 6 story ferry with a nice 30' wide drive thru and I thought surely they'll put me on that. Oh, no, they made me back up on some flatdeck ferry with about a 12' mouth even though I had a 11'5" wide load on me in the middle of the morning before sun up. I'm not the greatest backer but I made it in one shot both going there and coming back. I'm glad for the experience, but next time I hope to be one of the rich ####'s in a Caddy instead.

They use to have two ferries near my house where US-30 and US-60 cross the TN river. I rode them all the time. They were big enough for two big trucks side by side and was pushed by a tug that had like a trailer hitch on the front attached to the middle of the barge. It would spin around everytime to change directions. He would shoot for 300 yards or so up river and end up on the money everytime. They would shut down at dark and we always had to race to catch the last one.
I always had to build my air back up because I felt like I was moving with the current going by the boat and kept braking, lol
Tennessee built two bridges at the same time and shut them ferries down.lego1970 Thanks this. -

Yeah i have a small VW Jetta. I was at a dead stop. he saw the cars in front of me pull off and didn't remember I was there I guess. What's worse is we were at an off ramp and there was a ditch I could have fallen into. I didn't hit anyone else and the Police didn't come but did file a report over the phone. They wanted us to move if possible for safety since the ramp was so narrow. It was around 1130 at night and very scary for me since I was alone and thought he was trying to kill me. I have seen too many scary movies that start just like that!! He came up to my window lit a cigarette and said yeah I hit you a couple of times because I thought you were a curb and couldn't see you over my hood. He offered to fix the damage him self there wasn't much done to my car. I think cause it's so low to begin with. I have an appointment to see a lawyer because the insurance company is taking forever sending an adjuster. I just want to think that it was a mistake but I didn't know that you couldn't feel a car if someone can feel a mailbox how can you think I was a 3000lb curb?
Big Don Thanks this.
