Ok,thanks, My CAT was turned up to 550 at the CAT dealer in Atlanta and I was told my trans wouldnt be rated for much more. Thanks for the info.
I have a 2006 W900, is changing the mufflers really worth the extra money? Priced them at PP for a little over $500.00 a piece.
Any helpful advice or info....

Yes, the mufflers you have now are a reverse flow design this creates a lot of back pressure in the exhaust, then they have catalytic converters in them to create even more back pressure. Anybody changing mufflers on a Acert sees a fuel mileage gain of .2 mpg. The noise level will increase slightly using those mufflers, but not enough to be a nuisance while driving long periods of time. It's $1000 plus shipping, how long will it take you to save the $1000 with the fuel mileage increase? 6-8 months

You don't have to buy them from PP. They don't make them. Just go to a exhaust shop and they will have straight through design mufflers for way less then $500 a piece. Last time I bought a set of straight through "mufflers" the guy made them special for us and I think they were $150 a piece and thats CDN so should be even cheaper for you guys
Opps I just read again and I see you go a kw so you probably have the undercab U style muffler. Void thoses prices I said if thats the case but you could still get them cheaper then at PP they just buy them and put a markup on them -
Mr. Haney, I hope to see you the 16th in Doeswell. My friend has a ISX that needs tuned. I gave him your info and he will be in contact soon. I am looking at a 07 KW with a C-13 hope you can do something with that motor. Phil

"My stage 1 725 was an animal for the 1st 2 or 3 months, now it seems... normal. It's almost time to put a manifold on, that's another 25 - 35 hp. I guess I need to drive a stock truck again.... LOL"
I take the last statement back... Yesterday I went up Monteagle with 78,000 gross in 12th at 57MPH... blew by everyone who had blown by me when I was running my fuel mileage speed of 62... I'm impressed all over again! -
It does not take long to get used to the power. I would hate to go back to what my truck was before. I took my 1st "long" trip yesterday. I went up to Erie so I run the lenght of 79 in Pa. If it were not for the traffic and construction I could have set the cruise and not touched the shifter the entire trip. Grossed 71000 on the way up and 73500 on the way back. I had a newer Mack pulling a empty low boy blow past me at the bottom of a hill but I beat him to the top
I like my truck!!
I would still add the manifold if I were you. Another 25 hp cant hurt. -
Well I got my ecm back on after visiting the guys as PDI down in Charlotte. Mr. Haney, it was great to meet you and get to talk with you for a bit. I hope to run up with you sometime down the road being as we sometimes run some of the same roads. Well, I turned out the driveway and the thing broke sideways on me!! Naw, just kidding.
It did seem to run smoother and picked up really quick, but I was bobtailing to the house to do some other maintenance (on my APU) and Im thinking I probably won't see anything until I get a load on my back Monday. I will fill y'all in on my results and experiences as I pull my first loads and first tanks of fuel in the upcoming days. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I will catch y'all later.
