EFON: understand Trainer trains from right seat & May doesn't turn this into a team driving event - true?
    I'm starting orientation Monday, 10/11/10 # Pensacola.
    Thanks,

Efon mentioned in post #64 of this thread that MAY trainers must stay in the jump seat, on duty. MAY does not allow teaming during training.

    Good luck with your training!

    Civilservant Thanks this.

Yep Wedge is right. You won't run teams with May while you are training.

    Civilservant and Wedge Thank this.

That is right Efon, It was part of the big reason why I came to May Trucking company to TEACH. May Trucking Company's Philosophy is if the driver is able to "team drive" he is able to be a success on his own! A practice started by Dan Boyd driver and creator of the BEST training program in the trucking industry. It is also a standard I personally believed in before coming to May Trucking! It sure is nice to work with people who actually care about a driver and not just RACKING IN MONEY!

    TruckerSteve, Efon,

Does MAY use 'Prepass'? And how do the drivers handle tolls? EZ-pass, cash?

Thanks! I knew that was in here but must have skipped over it when scanning back through the thread.
Looking forward to May; selected them 'cause of the training issue, plus other good things I've heard. Also, having a P'cola terminal helps (this is local for me).
    See ya on the road!

We have prepass and greenlight for the north west. If you go 48 , you get a prepass/ezpass combo for tolls in the north east. Any toll not in the north east you pay for but get reimbursed immediately upon sending a money request. As long as you submit your receipts with their proper po #'s you will never get charged out of pocket.

    Wedge Thanks this.

I am looking into going with May as I will be a student at TDI in Milton FL starting next week. In your opinion as a rookie do yall think they will run me? I also live around Tallahassee, FL. I dont mind driving from Pensacola to come home. Only 3 hours to get there from here. Do you think I would have ok home time as in at least once a month after training?

If you haven't already spoken to Jennifer, I would certainly give her a call.

Since my last post I have talked to Ms.Jennifer and have my pre-hire. Now on to getting my Class A since I already have my Class B. I am stoked and I hope to get on the road soon.
