10 or 15 years from now I would like to see if you have gained any common sense. He stopped. That is the definition of keeping your distance. Yes you can be stopped for following too close IF the officer sees you following too close.
REDD I would like to see the law that says you have to stop for an accident, and yes I am aware that you are supposed to render assistance.

Trucks have to move period. Sitting around the yard does pay the bills.

Like I said I dont push my drivers however the truck will not sit.

My policy is 5 on 2 off. I don't think it's asking too much. However some of my drivers want to come home on a Friday morning and leave Monday afternoon this is I will not allow. Why should my truck sit there for almost 4 days? If a driver is content in making $600 a week that's fine by me however I can't afford to make the same when it costs me $1,000 a week before I even turn the key.

    Everett Thanks this.

Can't you guys read? No wonder people think truck drivers have no brains. I can't believe how some people respond.

My driver explained to me that he caught up to the other truck quickly.

At about 1000 feet or so he moved over to pass the truck. Two hundred feet away from the truck is when he spun out in front of him.

So how can he be charged for following to close in this incident?

I'm the one who called the police, my driver is the one who ran out to make sure other driver was fine. My driver put his triangles out so that nobody else gets hurt. And this is how the Police respond to us by threatning my driver.

Next time I will tell my driver just keep going.

If you are traveling in the fast lane passing a truck with 200 feet between the two, if the other vehicle looses control how the hell are you going to stop in time? By the time you get off the accelarator and by the time your brakes come on you are right on top of him."You Are Not going to stop" period.

    Wake up people!

Lots of Ontario outfits run the 5 on 2 off ( put 2nd driver in the truck ) loads of FACTORY workers with CDLs looking for extra $ that will fill in to keep trucks running.
