Ive heard a few bad things on here about Stevens, although; that is not saying they are a bad company. I dont know anything about them. It is weird how companies do there hiring. About 2 years ago before my JB Hunt days I put in MANY applications w/prolly atleast 15 different companies. Kinda like you have done and when I would get a call from them saying why they would not hire me. The explanations did not always make sense. I even put in w/USX and to be honest w/you. There reason for not hiring me was "we just cannot hire everybody that applies w/us". That was a first for that response. Werner said there safety did not like my record even though I had a clean MVR and one little minor thing on my DAC that TransAm put on there. I even had my Hazmat and Tanker. I see Total transportation of Mississippi advertise a lot in my local news paper. I know nothing about them other than they run teams from coast to coast and they also hire a lot of solos. I believe there website is totalms.com. If I had my pick of companies know it would be either Crete or Shaffer. I hope you are able to get on w/somebody good catjack

Alrighty, y'all here's another little tidbit of info for folks who are applying around. If you apply to Arnold, Total, C&C, or Smith Transport, you're really applying for USX. All of these folks have been bought out by USX and they may have their own trucks, but they're not separate companies anymore. I thought y'all might wanna know this.....

CRST is definitely teams only. If I wanted to stay OTR Crete or Conway. GF's son has a friend that worked for 3 months at Stevens. They tried to stuff the lease in him. He quit and went to Maverick. He made good money there. They have refer and dry vans now.

Are you sure the state of your CDL and your medical card have to be the same? I know mine haven't been. Just curious. Thanks.

Yup, they should be, according to DOT. It just gets the bears confused, so we have to make it as simple for them as possible....

It seems like USX would have paid twice for her medical card if they reimburse for it. Maybe they don't. I just think Champlady got bad advice from the trainer. Hope more time and money wasn't wasted for no reason.

USX will only reimburse up to $100 for any one given thing. Only way I'd even TRY to get on with them now is if they offered me $0.40+..... I really have a bad taste in my mouth for them.

Well I better be worried then. I've only had 2 Medical cards in Michigan. Every other I've had were Ohio, and one in Missouri. No company I've been with seemed to care, and neither did any DOT or any other LEO that wanted to see it. Unless things have changed since June when I stopped driving, I can't believe it makes any difference.:biggrin_25525:

Does anyone have any documentation stating otherwise?
