Spanky-Thanks for confirming, I have heard lots of good positive things about him. I am a good listener and learner and plan on being a sponge to soak up as much as I can while I am with him. Thank you for all of your posts and insights. You have been a great help as well...have a great weekend and stay safe!

Finished day 7 yesterday 3,333 miles cherokee, AL-Eden, NC- FT.worth and Waco, Tx- Trenton, OH are some of the places we've dropped or hooked. Sitting in Trenton now. My Trainer has helped me a great deal and is a true professional. I feel very fortunate.

Been a slow week or so for me - not sure why but not liking it at all.

Got dispatched out of Indy for a load going to Newington, CT that delivered on Monday. Was told that I could drop the load in Trenton or I could take the load. It has plenty of time on it and since I was in need of a reset I took the load. Get almost all the way there on Saturday and stop and get a reset done.

Deliver the load on Monday morning way before the scheduled time - thinking I could get a load out early and roll on - but instead I sit there for 4 hrs waiting....waiting and still waiting.

I get a dispatch to take my MT to Versalles, CT and drop it there. The BT to Randolph MA to pick up an MT. I get to Randolph with about 1 hrs to spare on my 14 and it's raining sideways and cold as crap. Just as I hook up to the MT I get a dispatch to North Dartmouth for a load that picks up in the AM. No problem and call it a night on the customers lot. Was another Millis driver there also.

Grab my load the next morning and head for Eden again. I95 is a friggin mess in CT and I have to detour around a bad accident that adds another 70 miles to my trip. Hit back up's on every leg of the detour but finally get around and call it a night yet I have only gone about 300 miles. I was tired with the rain and bumper to bumper traffice for hours.

Get to Eden and drop the load at Miller. Run back over to the yard and grab a quick shower while waiting for dispatch. Again I wait and wait and wait. Usually get a "no load available" message but this time I didnt even get that. So I headed to Wal-Mart and got re-stocked and got a hair cut next door at the Barber. Run back out to the truck thinking surely to God I have a load by now.....Nope!

Hung out with two other drivers at Eden that where waiting also - great guys and enjoyed talking to them. Get up the next morning at 6am (for the second time) my batteries are dead. I didnt idle since it's been so cool at night - left nothing on and ensured I re-checked it before I laid down. But still was dead. Get the shop to jump it and I figure what the heck - Hit ready for dispatch again and - Poof I get a load.

Of course it's a Miller load out of Eden going right back to NY. Funny thing is all three of us ended up at the same customer. So while waiting to unload we continued our process of solving the worlds problems. I let dispatch know I needed (soon) to get to a terminal to get the batteries and charging system checked since it's three times having to jump it.

Once unloaded - get dispatched to DH to Coxsackie, NY to grab a load going to Syracuse. Great - can get this load off quick and go by Weedsport and get them to ck it out.

Wrong again - Get to the customer and my spring release breaks on the fifth wheel. Cant get un-hooked from my trailer. Since this is a double drop and hook location - this really puts a damper on things. One of the dock workers comes out to see what's the issue and helps me get unhook by pulling the manual release while I pulled forward. Got unhooked. Took me another 2 hrs to get it working enough that I could get the load moving and be confident that it would hold.

Get to Syracuse in enough time to make it too Weedsport before they leave - but NO - they take 3 hrs to unload me. Get dispatched for a load from Niaraga Falls, NY going to Neenah, WI for a Monday delivery. So I head to Weedsport - they are closed - so I grab a shower and dinner and call it a night. I know I am going to get a stern talking too since my idle time must be high - but I am afraid to turn this off for too long as it wont start again. Get up and out of there at 5:30AM and head for Niaraga Falls.

Grab my load and get out of there quick. Now sitting at the t/s on 90 close to IN border. Will head up the rest of the way Sunday and get hit the T/S just before Neenah and catch some football games. Dont deliver until 10am Monday.

Just hope this past week or so was a fluke and not a sign of the times to come. I cant handle 2200 mile weeks.

hope things pick up for ya. I hear its slower from dec through april then picks up again for the other 8 mos. I'm sittin in trenton myself waiting. no doubt at this time be doin a 10hr brk. There were a ton of bills at the trenton drop but not available yet. go figure. Thought when I saw all the trailers with seals that it would definately be a quick drop and hook. oh well.

Hey all just wanted to give a quick update. We are sitting in GA. doing our 34 restart. We have a morning del about 7 miles from here in Pondergrass. We delivered this week in Ill, Oh, Wisc. Should be right at 2800 miles for the week. I must say it has been a good first week. Seems like a lot to keep up with out here on the road but I am sure it gets a little easier the more time your out here. My trainer is a great guy and full of knowledge and experiance and is helping me out tremondously. Have a great day

Yea thats what I hear too. We'll see how this week goes after I deliver in the morning. I am scheduled for a few days off this weekend so looking forward to that. Have been out for about 90 days now and need a few away from the truck.

The miles come and go. When you were getting 3300 a week someone else was getting 2200. Last winter I had a lot of miles. The thing that slowed down the miles was the weather. I had to sit out two blizzards, had to park once for black ice and got stuck three times trying to drop or hook trailers. It's easy to just get stuck in the middle of the yard while bobtail. I also had my wagon brakes freeze at the Sam Adams in Ohio. Best not to set the trailer brakes in freezing weather but you know how that dock leaves you pointing down hill.

I had my batteries die in Cherokee Al and after jumping off it was about 5 or 6 days before I turned the truck off again. I went from there through South Dakota and finally got service in Black River Falls. Just let them know by qualcom that if you shut down it won't start again and you are covered.

Hey Baritone we are out in trk # 21038. I have been looking for your truck also while we have been out here. We are in Cartersville now trying to get a b service done but it looks like there is 11 trucks in front of us for service already. Not sure if were going to wait or take the first load offered out of here. Have a great day.
