The small exit number signs you see on top of the larger signs announcing an exit generally indicate which side of the highway the exit will be on. At least that's the way it was supposed to work...

just a quick note. I don't know if its everywhere but you may check. for newbies going to school some pilots give a 50 percent discount on the atlas. so its worth asking

Around the end of the year when the new edition is about to come out... unsold copies of last years edition will be on sale. Real Cheap! For training it shouldn't be a big deal - the roads on the scale of the RMCA don't change appreciably year - to - year.

NJ turnpike from the Del-Mem Bridge to the Phila Split is unnumbered. From the Phila Split to the GWB it's I-95.

    Did I do good??

A little off subject, but what about truck stop directories? Are they use full or just a scam to get me to spend more money?

You can get an exit guide for about $4. I never go anywhere with out it.

    I LOVE my pocket guide.
It does not have all the info that others have, but it is very easy to use.
The states are broken down by interstate, then by exit number. It tells you if they have a scale, approximate size of parking lot s,m,l. and if they have a shop.
Plus the newer version tells you the number of miles each interstate goes in that state, which is always nice to know.
I have bought several different larger guides, but I do not use them much. I use my pocket guide almost every day.

I have one and I use it almost daily. I've gotten my $15 worth out of it for sure.

US routes have a pattern too, opposite of Interstates as to value of numbers, similar as to odd/even:

N/S: Odd, higher numbers out West (101 in CA, 1 in FL)

E/W: Even, lower numbers North (10, 12 in North, 80, 90 in South)
