Sorry it took this long to respond to you.

What's not to like? There is huge selection of titles-fiction and non-to satisfy any taste. And, I can download the books right to my Droid device without having to go through my computer first-but I can shift the titles from my droid to the laptop for storage, which as you know if you're the avid listener, tend to take up a lot of space forcing one to eithor trade or store with the CD varients.

So far I've downloaded and listened to the Honor-verse by David Weber, a couple alternitive historicals by Newt Gangrich as a few others-about 2 gigs worth. Definatly worth the price of membership.:biggrin_255:

I do have a portable cd player that also plays mp3 cds. Have to be able to play both since so many cd audio books come in mp3.

Good idea. Libraries are getting rid of their cassette audio books and replacing them with CDs. I'm actually an analog man and prefer the old cassettes, but with everything going digital I've had to adjust, albeit reluctantly. The mp3 cds are nice because the entire book is on one disc. I've tried the "playalong" books but don't like that they require batteries, and the sound is not as good as a cd.

I am about to show my ignorance here...what is a droid device? By the way, Newt is a John Sandford fan...

Just listened to "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and agree that it's very good. Look forward to the other 2 books in the trilogy.

Sorry 'bout that-Droid by Motorola or Samsung(Fascinate)-have both of these with Verizon. since both are about the same, both have the Audible app which allows me to shop, download, and listen right on the smartphone. And with a 16Gb mini-SD card, I can get a lot of audio-books. As mentioned, am a big fan of David Weber's Honor Harrington series and have all his books-unabridged-on my smartphone. Can do a lot of miles with darn near non-stop novels.

I've listened to everything in the Virgil Flowers series as well. It's good, but not as good as the Prey series, at least on audio. Probably as good on print, but I don't like the narrator as much. Ferrone is a perfect fit for the Prey series, just like Parker is the perfect reader for the Dead series by Charlaine Harris.

Will keep my eye open for Stuart Woods. Thanks. I go through 3-4 audiobooks a week so I check them out at the library for free. Nice to know the places you can get them online though if I ever want something badly enough to pay.
