OK so heres the problem my husband got this payment book in the mail from england I wasnt sure if it was going to be for his school payment or if they were trying to charge him for some off the wall stuff! So i called the 1800 number and talked to the guy sure enough they are charging him for quitting his lease! All the charges are:
1: qutting lease and truck had to sit till new driver picked it up
2: being pull started bc he truck would start like 5 different times
3: putting his truck in the shop and having it fixed
4: staying in a hotel while his truck was in the shop (where else is he supposed to stay)
5: a cash advance in the amount of 200 but i know for a fact he took only 1 cash advance and it
was just 100 bucks
6: a tune up for the truck
so the grand total he owes England is over 4500
the guy says people chose not to pay them all the time that why they have lawyers so not only will he still have to pay over 4500 truck cost but then hes going to have england lawyers fees court cost and his own lawyers fees so after they take him to court its going to be around 10000 and they will get the money bc the will take it out of his wages on his current job and its all going to go on his credit report as well as his DAC (I figure even if they put anything on his DAC report it really wont matter bc all the other companys know what a bad company they are)
I knew this company was bad news but good grief!!!! Any advice from people that has delt with them before????
England (bad Word) Us!!

I never understood why these people act like its the driver's truck(it's technically not) and the driver should consider shelling out money to them a priviledge. When is someone going to wise up to them and shut them down?
So far all I got was a bill for my unfinished school loan, but if I get more bogus charges, I'm going to be like "Oh gee. Well what about all this work I did for you for free? Isn't slavery supposed to be illegal?" -
well my husband 2 other friends that worked for them also go some bills from them needless to say they quit cr england! everybody that went to school with my husband went to school with has quit but these 2 other friends followed him to transam and i actually talk to them anyways i didnt know that it was legal for them to garnish your wages even though you worked for another company!! and this whole court thing what are they going to send a laywer out here to our home town or they going to try to get him to go to SLC! I cant believe these people are still in business! I dont understand it I had talked to the guy again and he was trying to be a smart ### and i swear if he would have talked to me like that to my face i would have punched him in his face! What a jerk!! Anyways I lost my temper after he started being a jerk and told him it was sad that some trainers (i didnt say who) was going to quit and move to other company bc they dont take care of their drivers and i told him the only reason their co is still in buisness bc they take honest people to court and sue them for all they have bc their new and they dont know better they figure thats all they could do to get a job!! this guy told me they will always be in buisness bc their will always be so dumb guy thats wants to drive and nobody like the new drivers striaght out of school! well what i said back i cant post but lets just say i had really lost it!! i really hope that they dont take us to court to take away our money

If you are a Texas resident, I do not think they can garnish your wages. Only the IRS can do that in Texas. If you were in a lease deal then I assume your were also in a Lease Purchase and working as a O/O? If I am understanding what you said correctly. If that is the case, did you incorporate? If you did and the business that you were running went bankerupt, then your assets could be protected. Take it one step at a time and don't sweat it right now.
I am not a lawyer, nor am I an expert on the laws of Texas. I am only telling you my understanding of it based on my experience. I am a Texas resident. So when/if it comes down to it, seek legal advice from a lawyer. -
Thing to remember here that a lease is not the same as an O/O. You will pay out like an O/O, but you are paying for a truck you won't own. They know that when they lease you the truck. This is how they make their money. Wonder how many other drivers paid into this scam and ended up doing this? That truck was probably free and clear from them way before all the extra pay rolled in from baiting new drivers with a vision of being an O/O.

Actually I dont live in tx anymore its just an old email that i use the sn on everything but anyways frim what my husband had told me is they make monthly payments for really just to drive a nice truck around from what they had told him is that he was going to make lots of money more then enough to make truck payments blah blah blah all there big promises but we got a neg. pay check so anyways im not going to worry about it till they send him the paper work to go to court

how do we get a company to be shut down i mean there are plenty of bad reports on England so how do we enfore these bad reports to our advantage and shut these people down!

Have you given consideration to a class-action law suit?
If you read any other trucking forums, you will find that they pull this kinda crap on literally 100's of drivers!
One driver was actually charged $10 for the letter they wrote to him! LOL Among all the other bogus charges they drummed up. -
What that guy said is true. You have to look no farther than this forum to see what he says is true.
How many times have you seen where some one posts about how bad Swift is, or CR, or any of the rest of the loser companys and some one else will come along and post that they don't believe the company can possibly be as bad as every one is saying and that because they don't believe it they are going to go to work for them themselves. You can only beat your head on the wall so many times before you cease to care. If some one has a response like that I no longer bother to try to convince them that they are doing some thing really stupid.
I've said all along that when a company like CR or JB, or Swift, or or or or you get the picture, pushes their flease/purchase as hard as they do there is a reason. And the reason is that the company makes a TON of money off of naive folks that they were able to con into believing they will make a ton more money as a "O/O" over a company driver. -
i would love to take these jerk to court for all of their crazy ### charges but... we really dont have the money for it but from what the guy at CRE is telling me they are going to take him to court anyway
