I had applied at Rohel and they turned me down. I am glad they did.
My friend has a friend that drives for them and has for three years.
He is at .36 a mile and never gets a fuel bonus because they keep moving the carrot.
I have been driving for 6 months total with Maverick and I am at .41 a mile.
I have also received over $1300 in fuel bonus.
So they did me a big favor!:biggrin_255:

did you ask them for the real reason why? i was told that if they deny your app then they must tell you the reason why, but they could also be using the excuse they are giving you already that way its a easy out for them.

Does Maverick have a school? If you have any more details, that would be great.

Yes I called and asked. The lady told me that their school is booked solid for months right now so they only want the cream of the crop.

Well did you ever THINK the reason your application was declined was the fact that they had a full roster of applicants , or did they ACTUALLY say it was do to your past indescretions ?

If at all possible go to a private school first.I looked at all the company schools and felt you would be to indebt with them, although roehl if I remember had a great school and only 3k price..Which is what I am paying at the school I am at actually 2800.The big difference I feel is if you pay a school to train you, they will do a real good job doing so.You will have your pick of companys to shop and chances are if you do your homework on these companys you will land on your feet. Not so if say you sign up a company school your choices are lowerd to 1.The unemployment rates are awful right now so I am not suprised that reohl is being overly picky but I am going through their background and employment history now, working with the recruiter. In my class there are 2 people already set for orientation for them.My point is maybe they wont hire you going that route but maybe the private school route is a way to blow past that hump..Eveyone is different my bad or smudge was my license was suppended for 8 yrs.Have had it back for over a year now.Looking at that alone you would think Im unhireable..But there is a good explanation...I was pulled over for failure to show insurance in 2001(buddy was drunk..I drove him in his car)I did not pay their ticket $900 so my permit was suspended. My driveing record is clean other then that. Some companys want you to have your permit for 3 yrs. Some are fine with 1 yr.I am limeted to the ones that take 1 yr for now.So like I said evry1 is different and a good explanation can work. These companys are seeing thousands of apps and in my case a good explanation and being str8 with your recruiter will work wonders...hopefully....

thats the same thing im wondering, if they said that they were filled then thats what it is and move on but if its because of his past dont have to inform you of the reason why?

Wulf, there is a some really good informative posts on Millis from people who have attended their CDL school and tracks their experience after school. They only ask for a 3 years employment history, will finance all but $500 dollars of training. Check out the post started by Baritone under Millis. Starts from day 1 school up to current. Also, they have been hiring new drivers to expand their fleet.

You have to have your Cdl. I did a long thread titled Heading To Little Rock.
