Mark,
is there anywhere on the net that would give us what the latest version number of TND dock and the TND software itself is? Also what the release notes for each historical version? I don't always remember to bring home the TND. But it also seems like it will "update" the TND sometimes but the version stays the same?
I see I have version 1.0.87 for TND dock
Under Intelliroute it says 10.5.1573.1737 and 10.9.1760.1038 ready to install.
I just noticed another bug, when I click "view release notes" it says "TND dock has encountered an error and must close". Maybe it's because I have a version ready to install?

TND is 1760.
I will look into the release note issue.
Thanks,

Mark, or anyone........I finally purchased a 700 from Diesel-boss last week. Absolutely love the unit. My BIGGEST complaint right now is the "Glare". When the sun hits the unit just right it's almost unreadable. I've tried everything and still no luck. I can only imagine what it will look like on a bright sunny/snowy day. I've seen some GPS units in the past have the option of purchasing a "Shield" or "Visor" like attachment to solve this problem. I'm running out of ideas at this point. Any suggestions or future Rand McNally fixes? Thanks.

Cardboard......?
I just change the angle. It is only really bad for me right as the sun comes up or sets.
I could not mount the 7 inch on my windshield anyway, it is just too darn large.
I would look into a mount I could put on my dash or in a cup holder. Dash would be best.
Then I could see it easy, but it is out of the way.
No need to mess with it while driving normally anyway. -
How accurateis the "Current Speed" indicator?

CoronaDon and Mark Kling Thank this. -
All, It is highly recommended that after you do your maps updates to disconnect the TND and then reconnect it. Start up your TND Dock and hit the update button again. Let it check the Software update and if it asks you to verify your Map files, say YES. It will take about 45 minutes. If it goes fast then you did not get a good download and you must download the maps again. If if takes about 45 minutes then it copied either all or most of the map files. IT will only download the ones that need updating.
Map expired - usually means you did not get a good map update
License expired - usually means you got most of the map updates as the license is the last file to copy and you did not get this far.
Fatal Error - redo the verify of the maps. You got a mismatch of old\new map files
Cannot start main navigation engine - usually missing correct license or not all map files are current.
Cannot route to places in AZ or WA - usually means wrong license file - redo the verify and update.
TND does not show connected in orange at the bottom of the TND - usually means you are missing the license file.
Do the software update and verify. This will save a lot of phone calls with the above errors.
Thanks,

I am back to using my TND 500. The 700 is going back again for repairs or replacement. This time the USB port is falling out.The SD slot on the side of both units is vacant. What kind of information is stored there. Can it be used to transfer addresses to a new unit. The 500 has a standard SD slot which is compatible with my laptop. The 700 has a micro SD slot. Where can I purchase the SD cards? I don't see them listed on the Rand site. Are they generic where they can be purchased from any vendor? Are they viewable as auxiliary drives on my laptop if I want to swap info. I see there is a detailed users manual in the TND Dock selections. Great product but needs improvement on many fronts. "make a u-turn if possible" is one step short of a death knell. Like a nail gun, it's great much of the time but it can kill you. User feedback is invaluable.
