They well drag you through the mud. As long as they save money they dont care about anyone. My father has been fieghting with Marten with the paperwork to get them to change the doc report and they have not done it. They well keep telling you to talk to so and so and then when you get a hold of them they well tell you oh no you have to talk to so and so. The love giving you the run around. Watch out what you say on the quail come and on the phone to them, because when they let you go they well use it against you when you are filing for unemployment. They can cut sayings out of it. My husband and I have found out the hard way.

thats what i call a drive by whine.

I have a continous problem with Marten always sending a dispatch and demanding I accept and keep demanding even all through the night. When I sent them an out of hours message they called and called me on my cell demanding I take the load. I had no 11 or 14 hour time I had some roll over time on the 70 and I had started my 34 restart already. They keep bugging me all night long by qual or on my cell to take the dispatch. SO watch out for their dispatchers do send you illegal loads in hopes that you will goof up and take or give in to their constant hounding. They do not care about the driver they have no respect or regard for them.
Also it is true they do not respect you enough to honor your home time. My mother suddenly became ill went into ICU. I asked to be sent home they said they would. But they just kept on sending me out on more dispatches. I call I qualed them. My mother died while I was still out on the road 4 days later! I called and stated I must go home she is DEAD now. I was not even there to be by her side. Well, then they go really nice sent me home and gave me 4 days off!
Yep you got a watch um!!!!! -
E logs in my truck, they can see Exactly what hrs i have, see how many i drove/ work. And thus they can't tell me to take aload if i don't have the hrs, ie 10 hr combo of off duty/ sleeper.
I video all msg sent to the truck, if i don't think something is right. U can't very edit what is said on the screen, after it sent or recived. The courts would have a field day with tem, if they see your record of whats said vs. theirs. -
Some of these companies think they can just delete messages off their server and it's gone. The same that drivers and dispatchers think they can delete them from their screens but you and them can pound that delete key till the paint is gone but that message is still on the QC or PeopleNet servers for I think a year or longer. It's only digital information and it's cheaper for them to hand it over than fight a subpoena so they just have a bigger server farm! -
Well, I finally had enough. To leave the house the other week, I got a 560 mile load. I was ready to go at 6am, the load couldn't be picked up till 1800. Drove all night for delivery Friday morning at 6am. My FM asked when i would be ready for reload, I told her. I ended up sitting there until Monday afternoon with no load info. Everytime I would ask if they had any load, the answer was "not yet today, check back in 2 hrs" I sat for 72 hrs after coming off of scheduled home-time.
Two days later, they sent load info that I could not do legally. It was very close to legal, but with E-Logs, close doesn't cut it. Every way I tried to figure it I came up being late. So I told them that i couldn't make it.
They basically demanded I do it anyway, assuring me that i could make it. I didn't argue, but I wouldn't resend a macro 32 with a yes. I arrived with the the load 28 minutes late....To a Walmart DC.
8 hrs later I was given my paperwork and took my break. The FIRST message I received on my QC. You are not being paid detention due to late arrival. I vowed to quit the next load that went by a convenient terminal.
My next load went by the Indy terminal. I informed my FM i was dropping load and truck off there. She called Immediately and asked why. when I told her, she agreed to pay the layover and detention pay, saying it was "overlooked". I accepted the Po's but still dropped off the truck. It was not these isolated experiences, but a general feeling of disrespect and incompetence from them. From home time issues I've discussed here before, to the THREE different fms I've had in the 7 months I've been here.( Each one worse than the previous one)
She was surprised that I was unhappy, because I didn't complain every day. I would state a concern to her and expect it to be resolved. -
Well, did they pay you a $100 a day for layover
-
And then, since it's Marten, there's a fair number of drivers with real problems on top of the whining. Not a fun job, FMing here. -
-
I'm sorry, but FM's should know their drivers, or at least have a clue about driving habit's, mannerism's, etc. For example, who likes to drive all night, who hates it, who complains constantly, who they can count on in an emergency, and who NOT to call when they have a crisis. etc.
But when they're constantly flipping FM's, and drivers, it's probaly hard to get to know you're people.
