even a rapist gets a trial, what kind of world do we live in when you can be fined for driving the speed limit?

I like to know how Ontario gets off with this anyways seeing that the Transpotation Indusry of commercial Vehicels is under Canadain Goverment authority to begin with.I thought they where to uphold the laws of the Goverment of Canada sets out for all of us,seems like they are just like towns and cities make new bylaw to suit themselves.

How would that happen? Speed limiter is 105, max in Ontario is 100...you do the math.

The Federal Government is only responsible for standards regarding the building of the Motor Vehicles (including Commercial Vehicles) ie Daylight running lights are mandated by the Feds. It is how ever the provincial right to create and enforce all laws within their jurisdiction. In Ontario the HTA is the law and when a driver is charged it is within the HTA that the Charge is given. Ontario is moving albeit slowly towards integration with the NSC as the HTA is slowly aligning itself. Witness Schedule one and two which are now in the HTA regs. The HOS is also provincial as the provinces used the same language as the Feds and when charged its also a provincial charge. The speed limiter will unfortunately be held up as nobody has had any luck in removing the more onerous racing and stunting laws and the really strange drinking and Boating Law. Drink and boat and lose your drivers licence.

Even if you never break the speed limit if you get inspected and your truck isn't limited to 105 you still get the ticket. Said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again but the only speed limiter a truck needs is the one behind the wheel.

what I meant was if you drive 100 and get called in for an inspection you can be fined for being able to drive faster
