I think it is bad because they want you to work hard maybe? That is what I got out of the negative ones on here.

well looks like i found where some of the nct haters are at. have only been here 5 1/2 yrs and i was hurt on company property and the company couldn't do enough for me while i was out. don't understand why some had issue with getting hurt. after being in trucking as long as i have been, i find there is 2 sides to story. have seen lot of gripers and know it alls come and go. the running legal has hurt my income a bit but i still do well here. with this economy, you gripers didn't expect things to have to change. harry gets carried away and spends too much money and has to punt again. so what? my check is always there and it is still a decent place to work...if you do your job, don't screw up and don't gripe all the time. get over you ex nct drivers. many of you are gone because of your own doing. sorry, no griper here....grinning till retirement....

My co-driver and I are seriously considering a move to NC..Can anyone offer us info/opinions on their team operations? For instance..Do teams do mostly drop/hook, or do they get alot of LTL? We both have Double/Triple endorsements, but don't really want to pull them. Will they push us to do pups? Also, we both have Hazmat/Tanker endorsements, but have ZERO experience on Tanker...Will they push us on the tanker portion?
My Co-driver may not be able to do Canada..will that pose a problem?
We really need some info/feedback on these issues..Making a move can be a good thing,or a disaster without knowing what we're getting into..
We don't want to go all the way to an orientation in New Jersey(we're out of Phoenix), only to find that we'd made a bad choice.. ANY INFO WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATED,BUT IF YOU ARE A BITTER FORMER/CURRENT EMPLOY WHO DOESN'T HAVE FACTUAL INFO,PLEASE DON'T WASTE OUR TIME:biggrin_2558:

I was there for 5 yrs. I have been gone for almost a year. In that time teams were not pulling doubles. Tankers are far and few between. Canada could pose a problem. Some drop and hook, not much. Definetly you will be doing LTL loads. They are very controlling in dispatch and not very flexible. I ran an OTR position solo until I got hurt when I fell and ended up with a shoulder replacement. Then they kicked me to the curb when the doctor released me. I did talk to a team about a month ago that ran dedicated out of Kansas pulling tanker to the east or west coast. He told me that is the only reason they are still there. If they had to work out of the Jersey terminal they woul leave. Hope this helps you. I had offered to run team just to stay for the bennies but they didn't think that would work. Luck to you.

Every team driver I have spoken with seems to enjoy working here. It is going to be LTL work and the teams are always rolling. If you are in the west, you could go to Western Freightways out of Denver, CO. They are basically the same company and you wouldn't have to go to New Jersey for orientation. Teams are paid .51 cpm out of New Jersey and do not pull doubles or tankers that I have seen. As far as Canada-I have been told that they don't do much of it anymore. And with all of the complaints about dispatch on this post...I haven't seen it yet. Some are more difficult than others, but it's that way everywhere. NC also has a decent sign on bonus ($2000) right now for singles. Not sure what the team bonus is.

After a year of working here there is also a 1400 or 1500 dollar safety bonus that they pay around Christmas.
