Really like your and chris's threads American Trucker. WS was at the top of my list and you guys pushed them over the top. We went through orientation at the same time, just in 2 different places!
American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Hey AT!!
so far sounds like you are doing well and getting some pretty decent miles!
What about home time? A chance to clean up the tractor and load up on stuff and also I am thinking to maybe get some winter clothes? I think Chris was out a few weeks before he got home but did okay. Sounds like you are adjusting to be OTR okay too! Just remember it's not a job but a lifestyle. Those that have not done OTR or are involved don't really have an understanding about what living in a truck is about!
Keep up your posts cuz I enjoy hearing how you are doing!!
Stay safe driver!!Wedge and American-Trucker Thank this. -
So I got to Conover, NC at about 05:45 dropped my trailer and parked my tractor off to the side of the yard. I went inside for a few min then came out to finish the Trip Pack for the load and I had seen on my way in Chris's truck was parked there but no one inside. About 5 min later I see Chris Walk out. So I walked down and met him we talked for at least an hour.
Then I started watching a movie, then at 10am I sent a QC message to dispatch so see if they had a load for me today, because if they didn't I wanted to run home/get my hair cut and do some laundry, and a few errands.
20 Min later I got a message, "You can go home for a little while, Be back at 06:00 to hook to your load and go". Woo Hoo lol
So I went over to my pickup and of course DEAD I figured as much. So I went and borrowed Tim's Jumper cables, started my truck grabbed my laundry and a few things and drove home. Got here about 12:30pm, I got my hair cut, doing my 3rd load of laundry now, took a long HOT shower lol, Then I went out and got a Fridge:

It's HUGE well for a truck anyway lol and it's heavy It's gonna be a B***h trying to get it in there tonight at 5am haha
Anyway this morning before I even started driving, I got a 2000 Watt Power inverter from the Loves I was at. I called the shop they said they'll install it for free or I can take it somewhere else to have it put in and pay to have it put in. But my truck is already wired for one, but I'm still gonna bring it to a W/S shop and have them replace the old wires with the new Bigger ones that came with this inverter, who knows if theres a short somewhere on the old wires. I don't want to set my truck on fire lol. I hope I can get to as shop soon! if not I'll pay someone to do it.....haha
Then I went to Advanced and tested both of the Batteries in my truck and sure enough just like I thought one was only putting out 336 CCA when it should be at 860 like the other one, the truck wouldn't even attempt to start, but with the new Battery it fired right up and just in case I bought myself some 4 Gauge 20ft jumper cables that I can keep in the big truck while on the road as well.
And then paid my rent for November, once I get my truck set up the way I want it I'm deffinitly getting rid of my apartment, it's a waste of money I'd rather just live out of my truck and bank the money! Ugh and it's only 4pm and I've been up since 12:15AM and spent WAY to much money today. lol

AT, That fridge is huge! It'll take at least two guys to get that in the truck. Just make sure you strap that bad boy down so it doesn't knock you out going around a corner.
Glad your P/U truck is fixed (just needing a battery is always a nice cheap fix).
Glad you're doing OK. Keep posting! We're all enjoying the read.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Well $114 isn't exactly cheap, but in comparison to the Alternator that I thought I was going to have to change it's cheap.
Well I don't think there will be anyone around at 5am so I'll have to manhandle it in there haha, thats part of why I'm getting there an hour early so I have time to get my load info together/do my log book/ and fight with the Fridge haha. I got it in the Pickup (I mean IN like IN the cab of my lifted F-250 on 33" tires so I should be able to do it. Worst case scenario I have a bunch of ratchet straps in my truck I can rig up some sort of a pulley/winch thing if I have to.
Ah ha I just had an Idea, I thing the inside of the bed on my truck is about the same height as the top step on my truck, so if I put it in the bed back the truck up to the side of the tractor then I can stand in the bed and just slide it on its side and into the passenger seat then get in the drivers side of the truck and pull it in haha OMG this will be fun. I might just have to video tape this. Good thing I parked it in the lower lot maybe no one will see this
Will do Wedge!

Wedge and American-Trucker Thank this.
