Oky I reread my post and am clarifying...the brutally honest was referring to my account of my experience.
I mentioned the other female only to say that everyone in the class had the same reaction that she probably had had some coaching. I did not mean it in a negative manner...but it came across that way. She woulda been perfectly legal in her hubbys truck with a permit I believe cause he is O/O. I was thinking about a discussion Hubby an I had when he wanted to show me how to back an I told him that it wouldnt be legal cause I didnt have my permit at the time and Swift made it clear that I couldnt get behind the wheel.
What I was trying to point out is that other females have done perfectly fine, coaching or not. I guess I got my thoughts jumbled an again my hands didnt speak to my head. I didnt want other ladies thinking I was typical lol. A lady from the class before us had to come back to finish her backing and was my roomie for a bit. The consensus is that women do seem to have a bit more trouble than the men when it comes to backing. But there are exceptions to everything.
Thanky in advance for your understanding.
Luv you gys.

OK ... Still rooting for you. Backing comes quicker to some than to others. I've been out here year now and it's just starting to become instinctive .. and I still futz it up ... I over think and over correct.
I got through school and my CDL tests. But was so bad my trainer told me my only alternative was to throw a 20 in the air and see if anyone would come over and back my truck for me ...Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Been following your post for a bit now. My wife and I have both applied and are waiting to hear back. I have my CDL w/all my endorsements, recently graduated here in Montana. My wife actually needs to go through the Academy in Lewiston yet. I dont have near as much experience as some of the folks here trying to help you along but I know for me the Alley Dock was a challenge to say the least.
I realized that all I needed to do was slow down, I mean waaay down when I was doing my Alley Docks. Take your time and just let your truck move at a crawl if you need too. The faster you are going the easier it is to overcorrect. Same thing with my Straight Line backing. Slowed way down and it helped. Sometimes its the simple things that get you. Another thing I would do as I noticed I was getting frustrated is stop and get out of the truck and look, gives you a chance to catch your breath, focus and get perspective of where your truck really is. Dont know if this helps or not but like I said sometimes its the simple things. Best of luck!Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Thanky all.
Unfortunately the course I hafta test on is the Swift course...the tester comes here to the range. He is a nice man an they say he is a bit forgiving.
Thanks for the tips Mt. I do have a habit of rushing it an realize I need to slow down, if I could slow the truck it I would lol. But it only has one speed in reverse.
We did get to go out in traffic before I took my test an when I started on the range to practise my one practise it seemed like the truck was going in slow motion. That shoulda helped, but I think it was test jitters.:smt101

Going thru missing class depression. The next class is full an am waging a war with myself not to be selfish. Its hard to hope there will be a spot for me come Monday cause thats like saying hope someone drops or fails. I would never hope that but I really need to go back an "Git er done" financially an for my peace of mind.
I guess I can hope the class does well an somehow there will be a slot I can slip into.
Still comes out negative ya know?
Luv you gys -
Well I guess only 9 outta 12 showed up for class today, so there is hope that I can start back on Monday. I am relieved that no one had to fail, it was laying heavy on my heart.
Luv you gys. -
Hey that's good news! I hope they get you in on Monday. *leaves a hug*
Wyldfyur Thanks this. -
Thanky kindly Nana...HUGS ya back! Yes that was good news. Guess I will get an update on Thursday cause background test, drug screens etc will be mostly done by then or if someone opts out.
Hubby is on his way to Lacy WA so hopefully will see him soon...been a long 3 weeks without him. Apparently he hasta do a mandatory sims class, but the kicker is he hasnt been near a teminal that has one lol. Guess they service fail ya if ya dont get it done...how the heck are ya supposed to do it if you cant get near one lol.
Luv you gys. -
dont think you ment 'service fail'....think you ment "safety hold". =)Wyldfyur Thanks this.
