I don't think you's guys want to give me your numbers:biggrin_25526:. Y'all got plenty going on without me ringing in.
One thing about pre-trip, and I don't remember if this is mentioned, but check the 5th wheel jaws in the AM. I've seen a few places where guys played (sick) jokes on drivers and pulled their release arm overnight. Pull away without checking and your trailer's on the ground. After seeing that, I ALWAYS check the arm and jaws. You do get to the point of knowing your equipment so well, if someone starts messing with the lock on your trailer doors while you're parked, you'll know it. You'll know every quirk and sound your truck makes and will recognize those sounds.
I know I'm ramblin'.....I'm a tired old dog ready to hit the rack.

Aye I have heard of a bunch of bad crap, 5th wheel, tandem pulls, homeless sleeping under/near tires for warmth/shelter...

See, many do the 'oh i gotta get going' and do a quick mirror look and drive off, I want money obviously, but I aint so greedy to not take 5 minutes to give my truck a once over every morning, and a walk around after breaks.

Pre trips, I decided to record the pre trip sheet vocally and put background music behind it, then I burnt a copy for any one in my class that wanted it, my classmates and I thought it was very helpful to listen to it to and from school every day or so.
I also added the coupling and uncoupling which was also an oral walk around test.
I also made a copy without music for those that can not listen to music while they study etc .. was a small helpful thing, I gave a copy to the director of the school too and suggested that eventually they could have stuff like this or links that the students could download at night and even save paper eventually.
Off to arkansas in 2 days and counting
