driving on I-70 at 0400 and nobody else on the road, Its real dark out and I see a state trooper sitting in the middle watching traffic. As Im coming up on him I can see the cars silhouette, and he has his parking lites on. I check my speed, and as I go by it turns out to be a big bush.

Now that is a mean trick, someone putting parking lights on a bush. Reminds me of a night spot lighting and someone put two little reflectors on a tree that looked like eyeballs.

I have slammed on the brakes a few times while napping over the wheel. I agree that it is just one of those things, a natural response when your tired and someone moves beside you.

I never see things when I get tired though I do have a hard time remembering to blink being afraid that when I do blink my eyes wont open again.

I was coming up route 11 in martinsburg one day and a plane was taking off from the air national guard there and was so low it shook the whole dang truck. Thought for sure it took the top of the truck off.

LOL, I've done that, sort of. Went to take a power nap during a lunch break. Dreamt I was moving, sat up so fast I clocked myself on the upper bunk (one of the split ones in a Pete 389). Cursed and swore, tearing through the curtain only to find that it was the wind blowing snow along the cab. Made the sound of tires rolling on snow. :biggrin_2559:

Man was that a rude way to wake up.

I mostly drive overnight, and there have been times where I was way beyond tired and the shadows in front of me would start to look like cars, so I would constantly think I was about to rear end someone. One time I was having a hard time noticing all 3 dimensions and I was seeing buildings fall out of the sky and land in place, or was it in front of me? I couldn't tell at the time, but nothing like having a building land on the interstate in front of you LOL

Another time my friend was in the passenger seat asking me why I was swerving, then I realized my friend drives his own truck.

    Ah, good times.

It can be real bad when you pull a tanker. There have been plenty times where I come up on a red light, and the guy beside me starts to roll forward and I get the idea that the surge is dragging me backward into the guy behind me. I mash the binders and it keeps rolling back. Thats a scary #### feeling. Stuff like that only happens to me when I'm wore out and need some rest.
