The bridge is now open on 93 just below Hoover Dam. It opened Tues. night, 10/19. Haven't seen huge numbers of trucks using it yet, many still using 95, guess it will take a while for dispatchers to get up to speed. Saia and Swift seem to be the early adopters of the new route.

Yeah originally they said pedestrians first, then 4 wheelers then trucks in early Nov. Guess things progressed faster. Can't wait to drive across it.

An update on the update. Crossed over the new bypass Friday after Thanksgiving, 11-26-10 from Vegas to Kingman, then returned from Kingman back to Vegas around 130 pm. Be forewarned, traffic was backed up from the Dam turn-off just past the Hacienda Hotel all the way back to the U.S. 95 turn-off just S. of Railroad Pass Hotel. ( about 7 miles). Yes, it's a Holiday W/E, and no, the lanes are not 4 wide from Boulder City to the by-pass turn-off. So, consequently, traffic was snarled. The by-pass is a smooth operation, but, the road leading up to the by-pass can't handle holiday traffic. Again, this is S/B out of Vegas into Az. I would say stay away on Holidays during late mornings/ early afternoons and use U.S. 95 S. thru Laughlin.

Nothing new on that one...it was the same way even on a regular weekend, Friday afternoon going to Vegas and Sunday (all day) returning from Vegas...a two lane road just won't have capacity for 10,000 gamblers seeking their fortune only to find the casino still wins!

It is definitely jammed up S/B on 93 from Boulder City to the Hacienda Casino Hotel due to only being one lane down the hill (two going up) on weekends and holidays. BCPD officers sometimes try to expedite traffic through the light at the top of the hill but there isn't much they can do- too many vehicles not enough pavement. Speed limits are are little confusing also, S/B from the light at the top of the hill it goes 45-55-45-35(by the Hacienda)-45-55 across the bridge and beyond.
