Try to make it work though, because like Allowme said it breaks up your training. No matter what you will probably have a scurmish or two! It's just natural when two people are stuck in a closet, under stress for 6 weeks! It can also be a lot of fun! No matter how good or bad the time will fly by and you will have your own truck in no time. Make sure to have your trainer show you how to (physically) throw chains. Tis' the season! Also expect to hustle! You are going to be training during the busiest time of the year for trucking! Good luck to you and drive safe.

I'm guessing that female trainees could request female trainers. Also, the non smoking could probably hold out for that, although it might make the wait time longer. Guessing it doesn't hurt to ask...

Being new myself,I understand what you are saying.
The only advice I can give is get evrything in order endorsements, passport card..Do your homework on every company and find what you believe to be the best to work for..That siad I think there will be alot of self training if you are with a good company, this company should have decent trainers and luck will be more on your side..If not, from what I have learned is if you end up with a s.... trainer gut it out.If trainer is beyond your gut check, then dump him...Even the worst of trainers are going to have knowledge of driving and logging so learn from him best you can..If all else fails bribe him..lol but I think by studying your job and digging in for the long haul is probably going to serve you well. There are videos on the web and lots of advice on this forum. The one thing you want to draw the line at is don't ever put you CDL on the line it's your reponsibility and if taken your career is over.So bar that just gut it out and find that decent company.Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for the tips. I don't want to come across the wrong way. I'm going to keep my mouth shut, my ears open, and only open my mouth when I have work related questions. No ego, no ########. I just want to learn the biz the right way.
