We're begging for time off........sand is running good right now.

I don't miss having a "gray and dusty tint" either.:biggrin_2559:

The only difference you might see is the center of gravity. It's higher so slow down on turns. You'll see alot of tankers on their side on the curves because the driver took the corner too fast.

I would never pull anything but tankers. And I perfer gasoline. It's clearner and the money and benefits were unbelievaable. I did take a road test (one night shift) hauling cement and gypsum rock and told that company they were crazy. They had trucks all throughout the desert where the drivers were catching a few minutes sleeping in the daycab because they ran hard and heavy. Six months after that I was hauling gasoline in a 12 hour shift making what they made in three days. They did go out of business and I have talked to a few drivers that work for a decent company but they still work very hard. And even then tankers to me is better than any other type of work.

    Hi,
Looking in to some info on hauling fuel. I have been offered a 4 pm to 4 am hauling to Pilots etc.. How is it compared to pulling a reefer or dry van. What is the good and the bad.
    Thanks

I'm just getting tired of the running and then getting to the stop and having to wait 2-5 hours for a Target or Walmart to check the items in. I want to get there, do my job and get the heck out! I have just been warned about pulling fuel in the winter months. An older driver I was talking to and a stop last week said if I never did it before I might want to think about it before jumping into it. I another fueler I talked to while he was delivering said it was the best move and best money he ever made.

I'm not saying you'll never wait with a tank......I do plenty when the well isn't up and running good......or if I get stuck with the sand that they only use a little bit of on each frac stage......

It's just easier to deal with than at a warehouse somewhere......detention starts at the end of 2 hours........makes it a little bit easier to wait........and I usually get a nap.

You'll never go back. Are you going to work for Pilot or just a dedicated carrier?

It is a company called Petro Tech. They are partially owned by the people that own Pilot and Road Rangers. The tanks have Road ranger painted on them. It is three stops a night plus the racks.
