We've got General D660's on one truck, paid $340 a piece for them a couple years ago. They have 30/32" tread starting out, almost too deep, but they seem to hold up pretty good, I see a lot of folks around this area running them. Got recaps on the other truck, the ringtread style, this one here: http://www.marangoni-na.com/3a2.asp?FILTER=STDORDR&FAMSYS=RZYD Does just fine for our local work.

Fertilizer in the hopper may work as long as everything is still dry & you give that new power washer a work out as soon as you are done. Fertilizer has a way of breaking through the best imron paint out there & corrodes everything.
Oh & make sure that conveyor does not twist under load. Have seen some that get costly keeping them maintained, if they get a little out of shape they eat belts, rollers & of course the bearings.RW. Thanks this. -
Finished rice weds.. Start hauling old crop beans out monday. This yrs beans aren't ready yet. Lots of fieldwork here too. Very odd for rice country. It sure makes hauling the crop out of the fields a lot easier when its so dry.

You're right cowdoc, this dry weather makes things much easier, 180 degree turnaround from last fall. Just now selling old crop beans?? That paid off pretty good this year didn't it? -
For instance, the FSC we charge our primary customer is based on $1.25 base fuel cost and a 5.5 avg. mpg. At $3.25/gal fuel you take $3.25 - $1.25 = $2.00 divided by 5.5 = $.36/mi FSC.
Some of our other customers pay a smaller FSC, depending on the contract we have with them at the time. We have a few brokers who pay FSC, others who don't. -
Yea RW the bosses hit a pretty good lick with those beans.

Back to hauling to the ethanol plant. The elevator I haul to is full until some trains come. It's been a fast harvest and the elevators and trains just couldn't keep up. Hopefully this means I will be busy for the winter but who can tell.

Darling International in KC burned this past week. No more m&b going down there for a while.

bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Meat and Bone meal from animal rendering. They grind it and dry it for animal feed. We do a lot of those loads.
