My 'ol b model cat has the 2 stage jake and the high side has quit. I'm thinking it is just the high side of the toggle switch gone bad,and I'm wondering if i can just run another wire from the front 3's plug on the valve cover plug thats ''hot'' and connect it to the back 3's plug and make the jake ''high'' until I get the new switch ordered? Will i damage anything by basically hotwireing the back 3 to the front 3? I can get by with only 3 if need be,but i'd sure like to have ''full jake'' until the new toggle switch comes in,I'm smack dab in the middle of soybean harvest and the some of the farmers I haul for will load me a tad heavy,if you know what i mean
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any suggestions folks

Thats what I'd do. It will also let you know if the other switch is bad. If they still don't work, you got jake problems?
You got the 346 jakes or 349's?dairyman Thanks this. -
Why not swap wires out on the engine(one at a time) and see if you still have a jake if so probably your switch, if it doesn't work at all look inside valve cover for loose or broken wire.

Thanks for the replies fellers. Les2,i'm not sure whch jake i have,it's an 'ol 4MG ,if that helps, but i'll double check today when i do the wire swap that puncher suggested.
Thanks puncher,i can't beleive i didn't think of that first
. That will let me know for sure if its the high side of the switch in a hurry. Thanks again for your replies
