Contact Schneider recruiter Kim Krause at 920-592-6177 for the facts. She is very helpful and honest. I am currently in tanker orientation with Schneider at Coroapolis, PA and things are going just as they said they would. Or: (Kim Krause) krausek@schneider.com
Good luck and folow your dreams!

    rob11XX Thanks this.

I am OTR (system) and met a couple NE Regional drivers. I'm also a native Connectican. I've heard NE Regional get short miles and have a lot of long days. Driving up there is difficult, we all know. It is just scuttlebutt, YMMV, but it doesn't seem too unreasonable to conclude that it's true. Carlisle is a great little OC / terminal. Spaghetti and meatballs!! Friendly people. The solo trucks are all governed at 60 cruise / 63 pedal. I get 61/64 out of mine. I find this not so much a problem generally, but when I am in the Northeast, I do. In CT in particular, I am in the way because I can't get another 5-7mph, and I can't pull hills very well. NYC is definitely possible in NE Regional. One of the NE Regional guys I met got a sweet gig hauling Poland Spring out of ME with guaranteed pay every week, but he was out 3-4 weeks at a time. He was a happy camper, though. HTH.

Thank you all for the replies, just going to have to focus on getting in better shape for a bit longer before I head out.

I recently learned that SNI doesn't allow pets? This might be a deal breaker with me :biggrin_2557:. I have a 2.5 year old pit/lab mix that doesn't like me to leave her and has high exercise requirements. Plus with my family running the pilot cars everyone can't be home all the time.

On that NE regional gig, doesn't sound like something I would enjoy that much. I live in a rural area but lived outside of Philly and Albany for a few years. How some people drive in those kind of areas is out there. I used to go to Connecticut once a year, some of those highways get movin, congestion everywhere.

Yeah, luckily the average person thinks shes a lab. The apartments I lived at in Philly where I adopted her had the same rules but they didn't say anything. I have a really hard time with the breed specific ######## but doesn't matter what I think/say.

When the time comes I'll have to do more searching for the company that will better fit me.

    Thanks again,

    -Rob
