Hello from SW Florida - Starting School Soon

Just wanted to post a quick message and say hello to everyone out there. I attempted a career in trucking about 5 years ago but due to a knee problem at the time I couldn't finish but no problems now. I'm currently in SW Florida but not sure if/where I'd like to move since there is not much here for me anymore.

Right now I'm going to be going to CRST for training on Oct 31st in OK City. I could start with Swift as well but they can't get me to school for another 15 days and my current job is going away on the 29th. I checked with the "other" companies (CR England, Prime, etc) But they are not hiring out of Florida and last I checked the Big Orange company doesn't train anymore. Any other companies I should look into that offer training or pay for training up front? I don't have $6k to go to school so a company that offers to train or pays for it up front is my only option right now.

Yeah I definitely will. I'll probably be starting a blog to share with everyone else what's going on in training and probably the first year of driving or more. I know all of the blogs I have read were a great help. Once I get a camera I'll be posting some pictures of being on the road as well.

 

Just wanted to drop a quick line to everyone. I am still working for CRST. If you look at my signature below there is a link to my blog I have started. It's a bit lengthy now because it has everything from Nov '10 till now. I'll post again when I'm back on the road.
