One of the good things about Prime - they're willing to give a person a second chance.

Another great thing about Prime, is they're going to let me start first, and then train my wife afterward. I've done my homework on the varying trucker companies, and while I know none of them are perfect, Prime is looking sweeter and sweeter as I go along. I'd be thrilled to get on with a company and never ever leave it. I feel Prime may give me that opportunity. Thanks iron, I'm getting pretty excited. I'll work hard at it, and the rest should take care of itself.

I was told that you can take the trailer home, but you must leave the tractor in a deserted lot (makes it easier for the boyz from the hood to strip it and sell the parts). You will definitely need a 2 inch trailer ball to hook to the trailer ( available at U-Haul, priced slightly more than average retail ). Good luck and watch out for the low bridges. Go Bama!! Roll TIDE.

They will let you take the trailer home accept if you have a hazmat or high value load. I used to drive and train for Prime but its been a long time ago. You can go home any time you want if ur a O/O or a leaser. But you really need to be out at least two weeks if you want to make money. I by choice used to work two to three months at a time and take off two to three weeks at a time. When I was home nobody ever called me. Just be sure to understand you will pay for everything as it says you will in your lease contract. Prime really has a good system the way their dispatch is set up. The better your load pays the more your dispatcher makes also. And also if you ever get a logbook ticket then your dispatcher will be fined by Prime also. So it would be a good idea to run legal. Also he/she will be fined if your late on a P/U or Delivery.

I think I've decided to go with Schneider instead of Prime...Prime won't pre-verify my info where Schneider has...I know this as my references and previous employers have been contacted and I have it in writing my past indiscretions are acceptable so there's nothing they can find they don't already know...Prime on the other hand said they won't do a hard verification until I get to orientation and between choosing a possible disappointment and one that did the work I needed them to do upfront, I'm leaning very heavily towards Schneider...I've heard good and bad about both but nothing that makes one look better than the other except for how they pre-screened me...

Thank you, I see the pumpkins all around my area and after reading they're actually bigger(more trucks) than JB Hunt, I was impressed...

I filled out the online application this morning with Prime and spoke to my recruiter right after. I also have a previous felony from 14+ years ago which is a concern for me, I was upfront and honest about it. So we'll see what happens in the coming days/weeks. I called a couple other companies and one flat out refused me stating that it was company policy. I do not have a CDL and have never held one I am planning thanks to a post or two I have read planned on getting my CDIP prior to leaving if I do get accepted.

Shouldn't be a problem with Prime... once it's in the past and there isn't anything else, they'll give a man a second chance. Unlike other holier-than-thou-lilly-white types.
