Today was my second attempt at the Road Test. The school I went to allowed me to train 2 weekends ago (Saturday and Sunday) and this past weekend on Saturday. I still blew it on the parallel parking and straight back. Training in the 'yard' is not the same as training on the road. In the yard, you have plenty of space. On the road, your space is limited.

I am not sure when my next road test is and if the school will offer any additional training. I had told Roehl that I would be available for orientation on Novemeber 15th, but if there are no road test appointment before then, I may have to re-schedule. I must also secure a metal coil endorsement as well.

I am not excited at the idea of taking the road test for a third time especially since my school requires an extra $100 to re-schedule (rent for the truck? Not sure why, but if I don't pay it, no job placement assistance).

How can you mess up straight back? Maybe driving a big truck is not for you!

There are NO other options. I have been out of work for 10 1/2 months and only had 2 interviews during the whole time. There's also the loan to consider-$6100 at 18% interest.

The school has a policy where if they don't see enough progress, they boot you from the program. I would rather have had that happen then fail the test twice.

I honestly don't know what to do. :(

You mentioned orientation with Roehl....maybe you should have considered training straight thru Roehl?

First: no farms close by and the loan comes due in December ($184/month).

Second: I am almost 43, so I am too old for the military. I wish that I could have joined, but too late now.
