Couple nabbed over unpaid $10 tax in Barberton

I live in Kansas and they issued a warrant for my arrest for not sending in my $7.43 for property taxes on my boat.

 

one would think that they had better things to do to waste tax payer funds

 

Yet another case of governmental bureauracracy run amok. Of course to go from a $10 tax bill to $400 in interest and penalties it must have take some time and several notices.

I am personally aquainted with a former police chief for a VA hospital(3000+ patients) who was asked to serve an arrest warrant on one of the employees for an overdue library book.

He thought it riduculous, but walked over to the employees dept, spoke with her, one thing led to another, and now he has been married to her for 20 years....

He got her to return the book...

I pay my taxes, why cant you pay yours? LOL

 

The IRS does NOT put you in jail for NOT filing your taxes! If you don't owe any taxes, or the IRS owed you a refund They don't care if you file or not!. I know someone that is 50 years old and has NEVR filed taxes. He lets his employer with hold taxes on his checks claiming maximum withholding. The IRS allways owes him a big refund if he filed but because they would have to pay him they dont care that he never files.

 

Just claim you are a democrat and instate the Charlie Rangle and Tim Gaether law.
I will pay my $10.12 but no fees or fines. Oh shoot that's only good if you are in the Obama administration.
Guess I better send in that $2 I owe Ga.

 

so they owe $10. wow. so with court costs and wages the county probably spent over $2000. thats the government.

 

You pay property tax on a boat? WTF I live in MI and I own a boat and have never paid property tax on it. Just regesterd it

 

Here in Calif I pay $1200 tax bill on my boat every year..
