I am more concerned with the time involved in finding an attorney to handle things who knows something about trucking than the money involved. Then again it would be much harder to part with it once its already saved.

This is the one I use. It is not a referal, they have lawyers. It is only a couple bucks a week. The way people go after truckers any more you better have some kind of trucking lawyer in your back pocket. Too many people have figured out there is big money in taking a company and a driver to court. Especially if you are involved in an accident. I don't remember the specs to this, but you could talk to them. I think it is 50 bucks or 100 bucks if you need them. They do all the rest. I have had this for many years. Just never had to use it.

As much as I like satellite radio, ANYTHING advertised on sat. radio is suspect!

From debt consolidation, to getting loans, to Chet Holmes, to prepaid legal, to making money on websites, to ##### enlargement pills, please . . .

Satellite radio is great in general and I'm a total believer in advertising, but the audience is so widespread and non-specific that they have to appeal to the largest, most dumbed-down audience in order to survive.

Don't initially trust ANYTHING advertised on satellite radio. Not that the product isn't good, but they just have to have mass-market appeal to work in the first place--and that's not a good sign.

    You have that right.

They even advertise JB Hunt with excellent home time.

    Like we can believe that.

That's true in general. Specific shows sometimes have sponsors on the trucking channel whose products are a little better...Dave Nemo in particular. I believe the one Notarps posted is the one he talks about.

hah, i did the guilty with explanation thing once, at the county court where i live for a 5 over ticket in my car. I just told the magistrate the honest truth. It was a part of main st where the speed limit goes up from 35 to 45, and i got up to 45 in the 35 zone very near the change. I thought it had already changed. Basically he yelled at me a little and knocked $20 off the ticket, LOL. Didn't cost me a penny either.

Check this out: If you get a ticket in the county i live in (Berrien County, MI), you have 10 days to pay it or you have to come to court. Just to get an extension, you have to come and personally talk to someone at the courthouse (not actually go in front of a judge, or anything). No option for "plead not guilty and request trial by written declaration" here. And you better pay atleast $50 within 20 days, after that they'll give you reasonable extensions for further payments.

Makes California sound pleasant. I got a ticket in Kern County once, action wasnt required for like 2 months, and i got an extension for another 2 months without even making a plea. Sucky part is it also didnt go on my record until i finally paid it!

Also, I point out that TVC is annoying as all ####

I knew a guy that got 6 points for parking on a ramp! I forgot which state, but they said that a no parking sign was a traffic control device, which had 6 points....

Has anyone heard or know anything about this pre-paid legal company, U.S. Legal Services?
Guy I work with just called and said the payroll company my employer uses has included a letter in the checks offering this service for a little over 7 dollars a week. I haven't seen the letter yet, he says that the letter states that in the near furure 65% of drivers may need this type of service, he also gave me a website for the offer. http://www.uslegalservices.net/People_Lease/index.html

(knocking on wood as I type the rest of this)
I haven't had a ticket of any sort since the mid 80', but then again something could happen tomorrow.

    edit
Webpage with more info on the service

Years ago I had it, believe it was 25 bucks a month. Never did use it. After closely reading what it REALLY did [ which was not much ], decided not worth the money.
