Can you guys from Vegas help me with some advice about who the good gas carriers are from the vegas area? Williams, Superior, Pacific? Any other companies that I may not know about? I am considering moving there. I have over ten years hauling fuel and truck/trailer exp. Thanks in advance!

just saw this thread. I was hired to haul fuel in april right out of school. I am 24. I love it. I usually try to start by about 3am so I dont have to wait in line for my first load, so that I have time for a 2nd load. I always have to drive at least 100 miles one way, sometimes further depending on which pipeline or refinery I go to load at. I usually get the 2 loads per day which takes up my 11-14 hours of service and works out nice.

Great advice from the gas haulers here, got all bases covered! Want to add one thing and it might not matter, depending where you live.
When I was with a trainer learning the gas/diesel hauling biz, I started in July and my trainer made me make a little "map" of each customer location - where the drops were. Just a little diagram of the parking lot, store, where the drops were, for all of our accounts. He said, "You'll thank me later." I was kinda like, yeah okay dude.... But I did it and it PAID OFF IN SPADES once those drops were covered in ice and snow! At the very least I could get fairly close to the hole just going by those maps I made. Might have to move a lil bit to get hoses right, but nothing's worse than getting out there pounding the cement with a hammer, trying to find the CHING of hitting the plate. If you're in a snowy/icy place, I strongly suggest taking the few extra minutes to make yourself a lil map of each station. I had a truly awesome trainer, very patient, walked me thru everything, getting my cards at the pipelines, all of it. Kudos to Jim from ITL, you're the best. (just a lil plug haha)
I only stuck with it for a year and that was enough for me. Tough job at times. Those long ### hoses dumping diesel in 10 below was enough to chase me away eventually. Almost all I could do to walk those off. BUT the guys at the pipeline had a running bet that "the girl" couldn't make it through a tough midwestern winter... I had to prove them wrong. Once I got thru, I was outta there haha. Went right back to OTR... BUT if you wanna be home, hauling gas/diesel is one way to do it. -
I would highly suggest Dupre logistics, great company, they have trucks in Duson and Baton Rouge.
