kd5drx, is that freq really used frequently? I've been monitoring it every now and then and haven't heard anything... of course I haven't been trying to call any drivers on the freq either, I might try that sometime soon.

Is 2 meters used much on the road? I haven't been active in years, but if I am going to be on the road a lot I am thinking it's time to rekindle an old passion.

Used to find me on 14.402 when I first started as AEM2KP. (lets see how many HUH!! I get with that)

Was active 2 SSB when I was stationed in NJ as N2BLY. Left NJ and with rare times my radio has been silent.

Most of us hop around a bit but 14.302.5 is still the truckers freq for all the over the road drivers throw your call out several times a day and some one may or may not be there. The way the band has been latly it is just hit and miss.

I have to talk to the FCC about my license class. I first got my license (1979) I was a tech. Then I renewed and because a Tech Plus, now they got me as a Tech again. Things might have changed but I thought the old Tech licensees were converted to General.

Like I said it's been a while since I was active, so I am sure I missed more than a few rule changes.

They have done away with the Tech Plus license class, and the Tech class now has the same priviledges as the Tech Plus did, since they did away with the code requirements.
