It was posted 9 hours ago! He had to have mistyped 2011 for 2010....
Heres MY experience with that 90 day suspension!
In 2001 they passed the law that if a CDL holder received certain number of tickets the CDL would be suspended for 90 days 1st offence, 120 days 2nd offence, or 1 year 3rd offence or forever if you were so stupid that 3 times wasn't enough! The rule also stated that all states had to report all tickets to the drivers home state.
I had a problem with Ohio! 55 for trucks when my home state let me do 65 on 4 lane non divided highways in rural areas! So my dumb arsed opinion of Ohio was screw you! I got my speeding tickets and like a fool paid them and went my merry way because Ohio did not report back to Missouri!
Then December 2001 and Ohio reported my infractions to Missouri! I got the letter on Dec 10th telling me my CDL was being suspended on Jan 1st 2002!
Jan 1st 2002 with my truck cleaned out I was unemployed for 90 days. My company due to insurance regulations could not hire me back for 1 year so I wound up after a few false starts with what I would call BFI's, Trans Am made the best offer and I was back on the road.
I did get unemployment! The state said no until I took it to arbitration with my argument that I did not quit and my company did not fire me but the US GOOBEERMENT fired me and I could NOT work in my chosen profession because of them and I won! Go get your unemployment because the Gooberment was the one who took your livelihood away!
My tickets were all 15 and over. Did I learn my lesson. Oh heck yeah because that little lady in the living room read me the riot act! Do not piss off a wife by getting suspended from a job because of an issue with a moron speed limit! And now it's 65 I understand. IDK and I will not believe it until I see it!
The answer you're looking for is yes you MIGHT get a job driving. When? That's a good question. You'll have to really look and research any company that is willing to hire you!
RESEARCH THEM! In here and other forums to see if you want to do take their job! I HAD to take that job with TA as I was becoming limited in companies and that little lady I mentioned was getting to where a frying pan in the hand didn't mean dinner was soon cooking!
I bet you will learn to lighten up on the foot and look at those signs also!
BUT! Watch your car/motorcycle insurance sky rocket! My company tried to do it to me and I told them it was a CDL and NOT my car/motorcycle and they didn't care! I found a company that was cheaper and didn't count tickets from a CDL and I dropped my other insurance which also had my home owners on it too and they went ballistic and tried to get me back with a matching offer and well being a stubborn semi old trucker I told them where they could, well park their policy! But I digress!
You'll be able to but your choices are limited! Watch that foot! LOL

since you have committed 2 serious traffic violations in a 3 year period, you are now going to say good-bye to your CDL for 60 days........
from now till November if you get nabbed again, you can kiss your CDL good bye for 120 days....
now, suppose you stay "clean" from now till november, but when you come back to work, that is if anyone will hire you, and you get nabbed again, "up to 9/2011........then you lose that CDL for 120 days.....because the "3rd strike" would have been with-in the 3 years, from the first ticket......
sorry dude.....but you are toasted for your not too smart driving antics......
oh and by the way.........speeding in YOUR car counts against you as well, in SOME states.......you had better be a good little boy......
but i seriously doubt this.....that 3rd strike looks good from here......
in closing, what i find most amusing, is that by your BIO, you claim to have been a driver for 9 years.......??????????????
i can't even muster up any sympathy for you, and frankly, why should any of us.....??????????? -

Well, I've seen a lot of ball busting going on here, but little in the way of advice, other than the obvious. (slow down, back off a bit.)
But I doubt that there is any one of us here, who have not just gotten lucky by not getting nailed. Sure, we all try real hard, (well, at least some of us do,) to keep it legal. But we all know that mistakes happen, and if they happen in the wrong place, at the wrong time, you are either busted, or kill somebody.
Ford, you don't give us any info about the company you are with. If you are with a good company, and have been a decent employee, maybe they can find a non driving place for you, until your suspension is done. Or even permanently, if their insurance won't allow you to go back to driving for some time.
If you can't do that, perhaps you can find a job on the dock at an LTL where you might have a chance of working your way back into driving again. Or in the shop.
Only YOU know what your driving and work record are. If you have just hit a streak of bad luck, then you have my sympathy. However, keep in mind that we generally make our own luck, good or bad.chalupa and outerspacehillbilly Thank this.
