thats what i figured...i am just to big.
thanks...mike -
you could modify the seat base to set it back a few inches or so. just a thought

I've driven 359s and 379s and to me there's no disernable difference in legroom, tho the width of a 359 cab is quite narrow. You can roll down the right side window without even leaning into it LOL.

hey guys...thanks for the posts. the non unibuilt 379 was way to hard to drive with my knees in the dash like that. i dont think 359 had unibuilt sleeprs back then. i think that didnt come out till 93-94?????
the seat in my buddys, even if you moved it by unbolting it and setting it back still wouldnt work. just to big like mongo.....lol
i love the corvette dash and always wanted one just never thought i could fit or find anybody that would let me sit in there truck at the truck stop lol.
thanks again guys....mike -
The Uni-Bilt came out in '95 (?)... my '95 has lots more room than my old '90 378. My son has his seats set back so I can't reach the pedals in his 379!
I am kinda in the market for a 358/359... but I have belly room problems more than long leg problems.... but I like the big old ivory wheels so much.... -
he moved the seat so you couldnt drive it....lol. they are cool trucks inside and out. guess i will just stick with the 379s for now. so 95 was the year for the unibuilt....learn something new every day. another friend of mine had a 2000 and that thing had tons of room and was a blast to drive.
thansk again...mike -
I'm 6'5" and found the leg room in a 379 to be adequate, but the seat had to be all the way back and pretty well on the floor. then the problem was that my arms aren't long enough to reach the wheel comfortably.

I know a guy that seems to know Mack & Peterbilt history very well. He claims Peterbilt made a few 359 Unibilts. If I could have a Unibilt with a Corvette dash I think I'd be in heaven.
I don't think you can move the seat back very far in a 359, you'll run into the back of the cab.
