If you have the HTC Evo you can pay the extra $30 a month for the hotspot feature on it and get unlimited.

they will give you the $50 price, just call them up, and they will change the plan. Also, I just checked, they have an $80 plan that gives you 10 gigs a month with $10 a gig overages which would be ideal for a heavy user. They also have a $30 plan with 3 gigs if you are a light user, but that will be going away in three months.

The only thing that got to me, is that I was holding out because I knew this was coming, and on the 27th they were giving the Mifi away for free with the 2 year contract, now they want $100 for it. That shouldn't affect you since you all ready have possession of the device, but it makes me wish I had ordered it earlier and switched plans after the change like you can.

Nobody offers unlimited anymore. I have it because Sprint grandfathered me in. But nobody offers it on new accounts. I've heard rumors that somebody has it for like $150 a month but I haven't actually seen it advertised anywhere.

Let me help you out with that
    Here are 2 of them...

I got the grandfathered Sprint myself. I've been reading a lot of posts this month in other forums that Sprint and AT&T both are simply turning people's modems off when they hit five gigs and telling them they can either wait until their billing cycle starts over to get it turned back on, or accept a new plan with the overage charges.

I don't know how much of that is true, and how much is fantasy, but If they do it to me i won't play, i'll just take my business to either of those companies in my links.

MrMustard.... I called Verizon about their drop from $59.99 to $50.00 for 5 gig a month. Sure enough, it is a promotion that just started the 28th of this month. She said it is a promotion but if you get it, you will continue at the $50. So I got it! Hey, I can handle a $9.99 savings each month. They also have a 10 gig plan for $80.00. :biggrin_25526:

You might want to read the fine print on the Virgin Mobile site. While they call it an "Unlimited" plan, they do state that they do not allow "Unreasonable Usage". I'm not sure what they consider to be "Unreasonable" but I had read somewhere that it is also around 5 Gigs.

Also, I don't believe that you are able to "Tether" your phone & laptop with any of their equipment. I know the 2 that I've looked at state that you cannot, in their TOS. Does that mean that they are monitoring 24/7 and will catch everyone doing it? Of course not, but they could catch you (not pointing at anyone in particular) or me. I think this is likely a scare tactic to try to get more people to purchase the USB dongle/broadband plan.

    Just some food for thought.

Cool beans! A promotion? Although, I heard this was going to be the permanent price, I'll be kind of disappointed if this is temporary. I'm hopeful that if Verizon lowers the price, the others will have to as well.
