I was messing around and you get all serious, chill out buddy. Chris is doing awesome, I am glad to have been able to talk to him on the phone and answer a bunch of questions for him. Proud to have him part of the WS team. As for Sammy and Wedge a few weeks ago I gave them a hard time as well part of the fun of being on a great team, they played along you just got defensive. Get off your high horse. Done with you now......

Yes ya all-- I do have a good sense of humor!! You have to hanging around drivers!!!
and since I have been hanging out with Chris and then Wedge, American Trucker and ORG (who is lost somewhere who knows where......) I admit I have hijacked many a thread....all in good fun cuz sometimes you just gotta have a little fun and sometimes you need some info!!! I have benefitted both ways on here!!!
Besides someone has to keep Chris's thread ALIVE while he is not able to post or work the slide out key board on his phone.....cuz his fingers are well, not hmmmmm.............I will just say as he did, ''too big to type!''

Wedge Thanks this.

Yes he is wracking up miles some of the best I have seen posted in awhile! Seems most that post their miles average about 2500/week or so. -
WEDGE, thanks for the info. I apologize if I took you folks off track. I'll return to my spectator status and enjoy the exchange.
Wedge Thanks this. -
Hey Chralb, (Chris)
Yep, snow already! Sounds like you did pretty well. Don't worry about the sweaty hands, no matter how experienced you are their are always going to be those moments. You did great man, if you have absolutely no options to pull it over than you just slow it down. Plus a good part of the time if you do pull over you can get stuck. Especially some of the first snow falls. The ground has had time to get good and frozen so under that snow can be mud. Get off on one of those shoulders with mud under the snow and you can not only get stuck but you can rollover very easily. I am sure you will almost definitely see one happen before winter sets in. Another little pointer, during winter if it is snowing or real icy conditions if you do pull off the road and go to the truck stop do a couple of laps around the parking lot. This lets your tires cool and drys your brakes a little bit. When you park if haven't cooled your tires down then they can melt through the ice (especially if the parking lot is dirt) and either cause ruts that will get you stuck or if it's not paved then you will sink through the ice and get into mud. Also avoid pulling your trailer brakes from now until April. Do you have your chains sorted and ready? Otherwise it can be a pain in the butt when you need them and they are all tangled together and frozen. At the very least make sure you have a bag of salt or ice melt in your truck. This can help you get out of a lot of situations without having to throw your chains.
Sounds like you are still doing exceptionally well. You are correct about having to run everything and everyone. At least that is what you have to do if you want to make money. Name of the game is "hustling"! Great job man. I think a lot of other drivers are getting some good tips from your posts. Sounds a little more believable coming from a new driver. Maybe post some differences on how you thought it was going to be like (from like to talking to recruiters) and how it actually is. Was there anything out there yet that made you say "oh my god, I had no idea". Was there anything that has really shocked you, or do you think for the most part you were pretty prepared?
Drive safe man!
kenl3417, truckerdaddy24 and PCDoctor Thank this. -
I got kinda wordy, I guess.
I didn't mean to hijack Chris's thread. -
Besides we all tend to get off track and wander occasionally...Wedge Thanks this.
