Trans AM only pays by the mile, if you want percentage pay you will need to look elsewhere. I personally don't know what is better then the other because I only worked for Trans Am so far, I have yet to land a job with another OTR companey. Thats why I stress go companey first, make some money learn the ropes on there dime woth there fuel then you can think about the lease. One scare tactick that may be used on you is you only get 2 shots if you have a accident as a companey guy but you may get more chances if you lease because you pay the damages. well if you have an accident you going to be in trouble anyways. but hears the difference, I had a no fault accident. someone hit my truck in a walmart parking lot while I was shopping. as a companey guy there would have been no cost to me or strikes againest me, but since I leassed it I had to cover the deductable at $500 for somthing I could have buffed out. that was haveing the truck for 2 hours. I brought it up to my Joe at the Rockwall yard (he's one of the trainers) he said there yould be no cost to me just another lie.

Most companies, especially starter companies, pay by the mile. Percentage is more of an O/O thing tho I have heard that some companies offer either.
WOW!!!! Up to $2500 now for a pet deposit? Really don't want you to bring 1, do they?Last edited: Nov 2, 2010

I cant speak for Company drivers but do not go lease!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband hasn't seen a check in two weeks and he has to fight for his miles. We are in the hole with IRS and behind on our bills due to lack of miles. His mentor just quit cause he was about 4000 in the hole!!!!! I dont know whats going on with this company but its been bad for my hubby!!!
Best of luck to you and be safe!!!!!!!calalan07 Thanks this. -
Sitting here in Rockwall tonight. There are at least 20 empty trks, both company and lease sitting here. Assuming that there is at least that many...if not more in Olathe, thats 40 plus trucks. I realize thats not even 10% of what their running but..... makes you wonder how they can afford to let so many just sit.

No more rent a cops here since they poured a butt load of concrete and fenced everything in. Its more like Olathe now, having to use your comdata card to gain access.

Oh wow, last time I went through there was in 2007 and it was a pretty new terminal then. The lot was paved but no fences that I can remember. The rent-a-cop was the only security they had, there was no swiping your card like Olathe. I heard that a guy named Thomas Young was working at the Rockwall yard now that used to be at the Battleboro, NC yard when they had that yard. He was a great guy.
