Yeah,I live off my netbook and Garnin.
####,I don't feel so bad now about my few wrong turns lol.
I've only had my truck a week though but so far no mishaps or tickets.
I had a close call with traffic in LA,cars wouldn't let me in the lane I needed to continue South on 5 and I had to force it.
Looking in the mirror and traffic stopped ahead of me,lots of brakes and horns honking!![]()
Another headed to Salem....

i'm being told that the ticket will be anywhere from $200 to $500+ you'd think they could give a rookie a break on his first offense, especially since i've never had a ticket in my life, but NOPE not california, no way no how, they're after every penny they can get.
if there's anything i've learned in my 1 month of trucking it's this "DON'T DRIVE IN CALIFORNIA! PERIOD"
oh and ALWAYS call your shippers and consignees for directions, no matter how "good" they look over the Qualcomm...

You live in AZ and run 11 western....me thinks you're SOL!!!

only a little

I got one of those tickets in Blythe it was $186.00 the good thing is there's no points
-
Always check and then check again to make sure that the directions are right. DO NOT trust a GPS as most will NOT give you bridge heights. That is why MAY sent out a company-wide qcomm message
about NOT allowing any GPS units in trucks ( this was about 1 year ago). Some dimwit topped a trailer in Denver.... -
I believe they are ok with the Garmin NUVI 465T for commercial vehicles which is what I use.

Hope so, a GPS can be a very useful tool, but its NOT the only
tool. In this game you need all the tools you can get your hands on..... -
I totally agree,I use my netbook and googlemaps along with the garmin.
Some places with google I can even get pictures of the street and site with a 360 degree panorama so I have seen it before I get there.
I use the qualcom directions, googlemaps, road atlas and then the garmin in my trip planning but sometimes still get lost lol.
