Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. I can't believe that! I was at the shop one day getting work done on the truck and one of the mechanics was bitc####! He had to replace the drive shaft because the fine folks that owned the truck cut a hole in the floor to use as a bathroom. Apparently after so many uses and no flushes it built up on the drift shaft causing it to warp over time. The mechanic actually had words with his boss because it was so nasty he did not want to work on it. I really don't blame him. It stunk up the whole shop! These folks were from another country though and over there I guess its tradition to poop in the whole in the floor!
Sorry back on thread topic. I ran three man teams. It actually works out pretty well. There aren't actually three people in a truck at a time. Two guys run while one guy has time off. It works out great because you aren't stuck with the same person all the time and you get great home time. During your hometime you have the option to run the local shuttle which was good money and I was home for dinner every night. We ran 6 days had a day off, ran 6 more days and had 7 days off. During those 7 days maybe 4 or 5 days I would run the local route. I really made good money. The trucking company was floral and when we ran OTR we got mileage plus stop pay. We usually had between 30-50 stops so we really pulled in a lot of extra money! If you guys are thinking about the three man team thing it is a really good gig to have!

the sewage built up on the drive shaft and warped it?
hmm i think i can smell a bit off sewage right now -
Getting KINDA DEEP in here after that TALE

It was all caked up on the drive shaft like concrete. I guess the tp made like paper mache. It threw off the balance of the drive shaft and caused it to warp. Unless it was coincidence. Anyway that was the mechanics description of how it went down.

Back in my single days, I would've driven with a team of two ladies.
end of the road Thanks this. -
hmm. i could see 2 female drivers and me 3 in a truck that would work i could train one while the other would be a exp driver,
drive my 11 hrs while my co driver drove 11hrs then the one being trained could drive for 11hrs then if the freight was there and the timeline was right we could drive for 33hrs equals one day and a half 4 turns of 33hrs after that we could go sit down for 36hrs then start again.
if the logistics part of it was taken care of bye what imaginery company we was working for. or
ps. am i all wet on this one? -
#### i thought i was the only one that lost arguments with myself.

I wonder how long its gonna take before P.a.t.t and A.T.A get a hold of this one and raise hell. I better prepare to take my butt to colledge and get new career..

When I was a young man after been on the road for a while, I would often imagine a few extra in the cab. In my imagination they never looked like truckers though!
